Job Description
Superior Plus Propane is a leading propane supplier dedicated to providing safe and reliable propane services to residential, commercial, and industrial customers. Known for its commitment to safety, customer satisfaction, and innovation, Superior Plus Propane emphasizes a culture that values collaboration, respect, and open communication. The company fosters an inclusive work environment where employees feel supported and empowered to excel in their roles. They invest in state-of-the-art technology and offer comprehensive employee assistance programs focused on physical, mental, financial, and social well-being. Superior Plus Propane also prioritizes professional development, offering various training opportunities and clear paths for career growth within the industry.
The role of the Traveling Propane Delivery Driver (Assistance & Contingency Team) at Superior Plus Propane is vital during extreme weather events and situations of urgent customer demand. This position requires safely operating a propane bobtail truck to load, transfer, and deliver propane across various regions. The driver frequently travels within the state, throughout the Western region, and nationally, providing critical support to locations experiencing severe weather or emergency conditions. When not deployed to support other service centers, the driver performs standard propane delivery within their home region.
This job demands a strong focus on safety and professionalism, as well as the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including snow, ice, and disaster-affected areas. The driver must be proficient in using onboard technology for routing, inventory management, and delivery documentation while maintaining clear communication with dispatch for routing and deployment instructions. The role also involves completing thorough pretrip and posttrip vehicle inspections to ensure safety compliance.
Candidates for this position must hold a valid Interstate CDL Class A or B license with HazMat and Tanker endorsements, demonstrating strong driving skills, especially in mountainous terrains and long-distance travel. The position requires the ability to travel approximately two-thirds of each month, often regionally and nationally, with 24 to 48 hours' notice. Additionally, the driver must maintain a current DOT medical certification and an excellent driving and safety record.
Superior Plus Propane offers this role at an hourly rate ranging from $30.00 to $33.00, with compensation contingent upon the candidate's experience, skills, location, and market conditions. The company is an equal opportunity employer committed to inclusion and accommodation throughout the recruitment process, ensuring all candidates have a positive and accessible hiring experience. This position is ideal for motivated drivers who are safety-conscious, adaptable, and dedicated to delivering exceptional service under challenging conditions while contributing to the company’s mission of reliable propane supply and community support.
