The Traveling Food Service Manager position supporting the Jefferson Health System is a dynamic supervisory role within Aramark Healthcare Plus. This role involves planning, administering, and directing day-to-day food service operations in a healthcare setting, ensuring that all activities comply with the stringent standards established both by Aramark Healthcare Plus and applicable regulatory agencies. The manager leads a team of supervisory and hourly staff, fostering a cohesive work environment that promotes teamwork and high performance. By maintaining effective relationships with other departments, the manager ensures a unified and elevated food service experience designed to enhance satisfaction across all customer groups, including patients, residents, visitors, and employees.

Key responsibilities include upholding operational standards, conducting ongoing performance assessments, managing food cost and procurement, and ensuring food safety and sanitation compliance. The role also requires hands-on leadership in staff training, scheduling, labor and resource management, and responding proactively to customer feedback to continually improve service delivery. This position demands flexibility, including working varied schedules such as opening, closing, mid-shifts, alternate weekends, and holidays. Candidates should be adept at managing complex operations that blend customer service excellence with strict regulatory adherence.

Job Requirements

  • Requires at least 1-2 year experience in a food service supervisor or management role
  • bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • healthcare food service management experience preferred
  • experience managing, motivating and engaging a large workforce
  • proficiency with Microsoft Office programs required
  • excellent interpersonal, customer services and organizational skills required
  • must be able to work a varied schedule including opening, closing and mid shift plus alternate weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • healthcare food service management experience preferred

  • proficiency with Microsoft Office programs required

  • nutrition education and/or background preferred
  • Serv Safe Certification is a plus
  • must be able to work a varied schedule including opening, closing and mid shift plus alternate weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Deliver strong operational performance by executing against Aramark Healthcare and regulatory agency standards and programs
  • continually monitor operations and complete assessments and necessary action plans to provide optimal food quality and meal service
  • drive patient and customer satisfaction and maintain client relationships through rounding
  • ensure compliance to food safety, sanitation, and overall workplace safety standards
  • manage food cost, procurement, and control waste
  • supervise, staff, train, conduct applicable rounding and manage the performance of Food Service Supervisors and/or front-line staff regarding food presentation, quality, cost control and cash handling
  • manage and control labor, resources and materials to ensure quality, adequacy of supply, staffing levels and cost control within budgetary guidelines
  • schedule and manage food service activities in compliance with Aramark Healthcare food service systems
  • utilize customer feedback to respond to customer/patient needs and improve services
