The Traveling Food Service Director position within Aramark Healthcare+ West Region is a pivotal leadership role that demands a hands-on approach and operational expertise across various acute care accounts throughout the region. This role requires 100 percent travel, providing on-site leadership and support for dining operations that are vacant, transitioning, or challenged. As a management-level position, the Traveling Food Service Director is responsible for the development and execution of dining solutions tailored to meet specific customer preferences and operational needs. This person acts as the senior leader on location, overseeing food services where customers order prepared foods from a menu in healthcare environments.
In this role, the director is expected to lead, mentor, and develop diverse teams to optimize performance through recruiting, training, coaching, and managing employee performance. The director ensures food service delivery aligns with Aramark’s Executional Framework while maintaining rigorous standards for safety, sanitation, and quality. Financial acumen is essential as the role includes managing budgets, controlling food and labor costs, and ensuring accurate completion of profit and loss statements. The director plays an active role in client relationship management by identifying client needs and communicating operational progress effectively.
Additional responsibilities encompass overseeing production, distribution, and service operations, maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations, and sustaining records that meet company and accreditation standards. The director also may participate in sales processes and contract negotiations, with a keen focus on implementing new products and services that support sales growth and client retention. The position requires flexibility and the willingness to travel extensively across the West Region, adapting to varying assignment lengths and locations.

Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Food Service Director within acute care healthcare environments
- requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- CDM certification preferred
- registered dietitian (RD) desirable
- strong communication skills
- ability to step into leadership gaps and serve as most senior on-site leader
- ability to develop and maintain effective client and customer rapport
- ability to demonstrate excellent customer service using Aramark’s standard model
- ability to maintain effective working relationship with other departments to unify food service experience
- ability to lift carry push and pull up to 50 lb
- ability to stand for extended periods
- must be willing and able to travel 100 percent and live near a major airport
Job Duties
