This particular position is for a Travel Nurse Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Cardiac Stepdown care, based in Seattle, Washington. It is a travel assignment lasting 13 weeks, requiring 36 hours per week with 12-hour night shifts. The role demands expertise in surgical telemetry, especially concerning cardiac patients who have undergone open-heart surgery, vascular surgery, or have cardiac conditions such as myocardial infarction, coronary artery disease, heart failure, and stroke patients with cardiac involvement. The nurse will be expected to manage complex cardiac cases using advanced skills like IV management, telemetry interpretation, and care for devices such as VAD (Ventricular Assist Devices) and TAVR (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement). Additional responsibilities include administering breathing treatments, chest tube management, CPAP/BiPAP, tracheostomy care, blood and blood product administration, cardioversion, defibrillation, and epicardial pacer management. The unit maintains a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 generally and 1:5 during midnight shifts. Candidates must have at least 2 years of relevant experience with a surgical telemetry background and cannot be first-time travelers. Flexibility to float to similar units and work every other weekend is required. Certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS are mandatory for employment in this role. Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

  • registered nurse with current licensure
  • at least two years of telemetry nursing experience
  • surgical tele experience including cardiac and vascular care
  • experience with open heart surgery patients and post-operative care
  • current certification in aclS, BLS, and NIHSS
  • strong proficiency in telemetry and dysrhythmia interpretation
  • ability to manage advanced cardiac devices such as VAD and TAVR
  • effective communication and teamwork skills

Job Duties
