The position of Travel Support Specialist at The Leading Niche involves providing dedicated travel coordination and administrative support to the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases (NCIRD) within the CDC in Atlanta, GA. This role requires an individual who can navigate the complex landscape of travel and conference management within a federal health institution environment. The Travel Support Specialist acts as a vital travel resource contact, handling NCIRD conference approval processes and travel-related initiatives. This includes resolving and analyzing travel issues linked to conference approvals and daily operational needs.

This position demands significant attention to detail and the ability to interpret and apply federal travel regulations issued by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), CDC, and NCIRD. The Travel Support Specialist is expected to perform independent research to ensure accurate adherence to often complex guidelines governing travel and conference activities. They are responsible for ensuring compliance with multiple layers of policies, including Conference Management and Conference Logistics guidelines.

Key responsibilities of the role encompass managing domestic travel authorizations for NCIRD, preparing and submitting conference approval requests, creating comprehensive travel itineraries, and processing travel vouchers promptly. Additionally, the position involves preparing and coordinating travel arrangements for all NCIRD staff, ensuring all requests comply with applicable policies and regulations. This includes facilitating administrative functions related to travel memorandums and audit-related travel reporting.

The Travel Support Specialist will also develop various reports from travel systems such as CAS II and Concur, monitor travel projection lists, and update unliquidated obligations (ULOs) monthly to maintain financial accuracy. This role requires coordination for pre- and post-travel processes including approval through the Interagency Collaboration Agreement Process (ICAP).

Ideal candidates must demonstrate exceptional organizational skills, the ability to work independently, and possess a thorough understanding of federal travel policies and procedures. The employment is a full-time position located in Atlanta, GA, reflecting the critical role the Travel Support Specialist plays in supporting the mission of the CDC through efficient travel and conference administration.

Job Requirements

Job Duties
