Job Description
O'Hara's Son Roofing Company (OSR), established in 1987, is a reputable family-owned and operated roofing business serving the commercial and industrial sectors. Headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, OSR has grown to become a national leader with over 100 employees dedicated to delivering quality roofing work with an emphasis on safety, clear communication, and customer satisfaction. Recognized as one of the Top 20 Roofing Contractors in the United States as of 2024, OSR offers a broad range of roofing services including the installation of various types of roof applications and coatings, comprehensive roof repairs, OSHA-compliant safety products, and innovative renewable energy solutions. The company maintains several branches throughout the country, allowing it to provide timely maintenance and service to a diverse portfolio of partners across multiple regions.
Joining OSR means becoming part of a dynamic team that values continuous improvement and prides itself on the principle of "Putting the Pedal to the Metal," driving success by avoiding complacency and always striving for excellence. The company's culture is deeply rooted in family values and a "No Jerk Zone" policy, fostering a respectful, supportive, and collaborative environment. This culture encourages self-starters who are passionate about their work, dedicated to teamwork, and eager to seize opportunities that shape their professional growth. OSR is committed to being the preferred roofing contractor by consistently delivering quality and paying attention to every detail.
The role of Travel Superintendent at OSR is vital to the successful execution of retail reroofing projects nationwide. As a Travel Superintendent, you will oversee all project aspects at various retail locations, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and meet the highest quality standards. You will collaborate closely with project managers and estimators to review plans, develop detailed execution strategies, and coordinate all activities, materials, and subcontractors involved. Your leadership skills will be instrumental in guiding roofing crews, subcontractors, and support staff to achieve project goals while maintaining a safe and productive work environment. Quality assurance and compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and customer specifications are paramount responsibilities in this role. Additionally, you will be the primary liaison with retail store managers, maintaining clear communications and exceptional customer service throughout the project lifecycle.
This full-time position offers a competitive salary range of $50,000 to $75,000 annually, reflecting experience and qualifications. OSR supports its employees with comprehensive benefits including flexible work arrangements, unlimited paid time off plus paid holidays, medical, dental, and vision insurance plans, a 401(k) retirement plan with company matching, life insurance, accidental death and dismemberment coverage, and short term disability benefits. As the Travel Superintendent role requires extensive travel to various project sites, candidates should be prepared for a dynamic work schedule and have a valid driver’s license with a clean record. Joining OSR means advancing your career in a respected company committed to excellence, safety, and team empowerment, while contributing to meaningful projects in the commercial roofing industry.
