Job Description
GHG Healthcare, formally known as Global Healthcare Group, is a distinguished leader in the recruitment of international allied health and nursing professionals. With over 18 years of experience in the healthcare staffing industry, GHG Healthcare has successfully placed hundreds of nurses and allied health professionals across the United States. The company prides itself on its compassionate, understanding, and attentive approach to the placement process, ensuring the right fit between healthcare professionals and facilities. This focus has positioned GHG Healthcare as a trusted partner among healthcare organizations seeking skilled professionals and traveling healthcare workers looking for engaging and rewarding assignments.
The opportunity presented is for a Travel Physical Therapist role based in Salinas, California, through a skilled nursing facility located within Monterey County. This facility is a large and dynamic healthcare environment that emphasizes delivering high-quality rehabilitative and long-term care services. The organization uses a multidisciplinary team care model to enhance patient outcomes and relies on Net Health for clinical documentation, allowing for standardized and efficient patient management. The facility promotes a culture of collaboration and professional development by offering mentorship programs especially beneficial for Physical Therapists with 0-1 years of Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) experience or those looking to expand their expertise in this field.
This Travel Physical Therapist position provides an excellent opportunity to work a 40-hour week across 13 weeks, with the shift schedule typically eight hours per day. Shift preferences generally fall Sunday through Thursday or Tuesday through Saturday, providing some flexibility in work-life balance. The role entails evaluating and treating skilled nursing facility patients by designing and implementing individualized treatment plans focused on improving mobility, strength, and overall functional independence. The therapist is expected to collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary care team to ensure comprehensive care plans are delivered to patients.
In addition to clinical responsibilities, the Physical Therapist is required to maintain accurate and timely documentation in Net Health according to facility standards. The role also demands a flexible and cooperative mindset, strong documentation skills, and effective time management to handle the demands of a dynamic healthcare setting. An active Physical Therapist license in California is mandatory for candidates. While prior SNF experience is preferred, mentorship is available to support less experienced therapists. The position may occasionally require floating to a sister facility located within walking distance, encouraging a broad experience within multiple clinical environments.
Monterey County, California offers an unmatched living experience with picturesque ocean views, iconic landmarks such as Cannery Row and the Monterey Bay Aquarium, and proximity to premium wine country and championship golf courses. This destination combines professional growth with an exceptional quality of life, making it a highly attractive location for travel healthcare professionals. The pay for this assignment is an estimated gross weekly income of $2636.20, subject to confirmation, including a tax-free stipend, based on a standard 40-hour workweek and eight-hour shifts.
GHG Healthcare is committed to equal opportunity employment. All qualified applicants will be considered without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic, ensuring a diverse and inclusive workplace. Physical requirements for this job include the ability to stand for extended periods, bend, reach, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodations, reflecting the physical demands typical of the therapy profession.
