Job Description

Triage Staffing is a dedicated healthcare staffing agency committed to connecting qualified healthcare professionals with rewarding travel assignments across the United States. Specializing in acute care divisions such as nursing, lab, radiology, cardiopulmonary, and rehab therapy, Triage Staffing prides itself on being transparent and supportive throughout the entire placement process. Their focus is on providing competitive and customized pay packages, personalized recruiter support, and comprehensive benefits that start from day one. The agency’s commitment to honesty means they set clear expectations about every aspect of an assignment—from compensation to work conditions—ensuring that healthcare professionals are fully prepared for their next role. This approach helps foster a trusted relationship with their travelers and partnering healthcare facilities alike.

Currently, Triage Staffing is seeking a Travel Nurse Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Oncology for a valuable travel nursing opportunity located in Salinas, California. This position is a temporary 13-week contract beginning August 3, 2026, with a work schedule of 40 hours per week over 10-hour day shifts. The role requires delivering expert nursing care to oncology patients, supporting their treatment plans, and managing complex clinical symptoms associated with cancer care. This travel nursing assignment offers not only the experience of working in a dynamic healthcare environment but also the chance to explore and enjoy life in Salinas and surrounding areas.

The RN Oncology will be responsible for providing compassionate, patient-centered care in acute oncology settings, ensuring adherence to established clinical protocols and working closely with interdisciplinary teams. This role demands strong clinical expertise in oncology nursing as well as the flexibility and adaptability inherent in travel nursing roles. The candidate must be ready to jump into a new environment, quickly build rapport with patients and colleagues, and maintain the highest standards of clinical care throughout the assignment.

This travel nursing role includes comprehensive benefits from day one, such as nationwide health, vision, dental, and life insurance plans with health savings account options. Nurses enjoy a 401(k) program with employer match once eligible, guaranteed hours, facility cancellation protections, weekly direct deposit paychecks, earned vacation bonuses, paid holidays, and mental health support through an employee assistance program (EAP). Additionally, continuing education and licensing reimbursements, workers compensation, top-rated professional liability insurance, company-provided housing options, and a referral bonus of $750 after completing a 13-week assignment further enhance the overall employment experience.

Triage Staffing’s culture emphasizes readiness and honesty, ensuring nurses are well-informed about the realities of their assignments while providing unwavering support and resources. The agency also offers mentoring programs managed by clinicians, a clinical liaison team available 24/7 for professional and medical support, and experienced recruiters who advocate for travelers throughout their placements. This makes Triage Staffing an excellent choice for oncology RNs seeking flexible and rewarding travel nursing opportunities with a reliable partner dedicated to their success and well-being.
