The Travel Cath Lab RN role at Fusion Medical Staffing is a specialized nursing position that involves providing expert care to patients undergoing cardiac catheterization and other interventional cardiac procedures. This is a 13-week travel assignment located in a healthcare facility in Hanford, California, designed for experienced Cath Lab nurses who want to apply their skills in a dynamic and challenging environment. This role requires close collaboration with cardiologists and cath lab teams to ensure patient safety, procedural success, and effective recovery.

As a Travel Cath Lab RN, you will be responsible for preparing patients for cardiac procedures, assisting during interventions such as catheter, balloon, and stent placements, and monitoring patients post-procedure to ensure optimal outcomes. You will operate and maintain specialized cath lab equipment, monitor vital cardiac signs including ECG and hemodynamic parameters, and provide critical support in arterial or venous sheath removal. Your advanced cardiac care skills and ability to communicate effectively with physicians, patients, and families are essential in delivering seamless patient care. Job Requirements

  • One year recent experience as a Cath Lab RN
  • valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
  • current BLS (AHA/ARC) certification
  • current ACLS certification
  • PALS or ENPC certifications preferred
  • RCIS certification preferred
  • physical ability to remain stationary move about and handle equipment weighing 50 to 100 pounds
  • ability to perform fine motor skills and maintain visual acuity
  • good interpersonal communication skills
  • ability to cope with high-pressure situations and irregular schedules
  • proficiency in English language and computer skills

Job Duties

  • Conduct assessment of patients prior to procedures including reviewing medical history and performing physical exams
  • assist in positioning patients correctly for the procedure and ensure EKG electrodes and cardiac leads are properly placed
  • assist physicians during procedures including the placement of catheters wires balloons stents structural heart devices and other cardiac interventions
  • operate and monitor hemodynamic equipment recognizing and responding to changes in cardiac rhythms and hemodynamic waveforms
  • assist in arterial and/or venous sheath removal using closure devices manual pressure or mechanical compression and transport patients to the appropriate recovery area
  • monitor vital signs ECG and hemodynamic parameters during cardiac catheterization and interventional procedure
  • support post-procedure care including monitoring patient recovery and ensuring a smooth transition to the next phase of care
  • maintain and troubleshoot cath lab equipment ensuring everything is functioning properly and fully stocked for procedures
  • communicate effectively with team members patients families and physicians to provide seamless care
  • adhere to hospital safety protocols infection control guidelines and regulatory standards
  • perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice
