The role primarily involves planning, coordinating, and executing a variety of events and travel arrangements to support the school’s mission and activities. Responsibilities include managing conferences, meetings, and other corporate functions by overseeing logistics such as venue selection, catering, transportation, and accommodations. The position requires developing and maintaining event budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness without compromising quality or participant experience. Additionally, the coordinator will arrange comprehensive travel plans for employees and guests, handling all components from flights to local transportation and lodging. Effective communication with vendors, suppliers, and stakeholders is essential to meet all event and travel needs successfully.\n\nThe role also includes creating and distributing event materials like agendas, invitations, and itineraries and providing on-site support during events to ensure everything runs smoothly. After events conclude, the coordinator will manage post-event tasks, including collecting feedback and reporting outcomes to stakeholders. This position requires a professional who can work effectively under pressure, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and maintain meticulous attention to detail. The ability to contribute positively within a team environment, along with excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, is vital. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and event management software is expected. This position reports to the administration of RSOD and entails some travel within local and campus locations. Compensation ranges from $44,000 to $50,000 annually, with eligibility for comprehensive benefits such as health insurance, retirement plans, and tuition assistance. The workplace is an onsite, climate-controlled office environment with moderate noise levels. Job Requirements
- Minimum of bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in related field
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and event management software
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Attention to detail
- Ability to travel locally using a personal or university vehicle with a valid Virginia driver’s license and liability insurance
- Capability to lift up to 10 pounds regularly
- Ability to sit for extended periods and occasionally stand walk or climb stairs

Job Duties
- Plan and coordinate events including conferences meetings and corporate functions
- Manage all aspects of event logistics including venue selection catering transportation and accommodations
- Develop and maintain event budgets ensuring cost-effective solutions
- Coordinate travel arrangements for employees and guests including flights accommodations and transportation
