Job Description

WSI Trash & Recycling Valet is a family-owned, majority women-operated company founded in Utah in 2010. As an industry pioneer in trash and recycling valet services, WSI provides specialized waste management solutions tailored for multifamily apartment communities. With a focus on maintaining clean living environments and promoting sustainable waste practices, WSI serves numerous apartment complexes throughout Utah and has recently expanded operations into Nevada and Idaho. The company values professionalism, reliability, and environmental responsibility, making it a respected service provider in its field. Its workforce plays an essential role in supporting communities by providing consistent, high-quality trash and recycling collection services. The company is committed to equal employment opportunities, encouraging a diverse workforce without discrimination based on race, color, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, age, or veteran status.

The position available is for Trash & Recycling Valet Porters who will provide door-side to dumpster trash and recycling collection at multiple apartment communities throughout Utah. This is a part-time, evening role designed to accommodate individuals seeking supplemental income with a consistent weekday schedule and no weekend commitments. Typically, shifts last between one to two hours during evenings, starting around 6:30 PM or 7:00 PM from Monday through Friday. The pay varies depending on site requirements, with $20 per hour offered at locations that do not require a personal pickup truck and $25 per hour at sites where personal open-bed pickup truck use is needed.

This role involves physically active duties including extensive walking, ascending and descending stairs, and lifting up to 50 pounds. The responsibilities focus on collecting bagged trash, recycling, and broken-down cardboard from apartment doors, transporting the materials to onsite dumpsters or compactors, separating recyclables, and inspecting them for contamination. Porters use a mobile app for check-in and check-out, documentation, taking photos, and issuing Educational Courtesy Compliance Notices when necessary. They also maintain the cleanliness of dumpster areas and occasionally assist with pet waste station maintenance and managing waste bins in common areas. The role requires friendly and professional interaction with residents and on-site management, ensuring excellent customer service while upholding the company’s commitment to community cleanliness and sustainability. No prior experience is necessary, as training is provided for all new hires. This position is ideal for self-motivated individuals who are reliable and conscientious, comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions, and capable of meeting the physical demands of the job.
