The role of Transportation Supervisor at LSG Sky Chefs is a vital leadership position based in Des Plaines, near Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport. This is an on-site role within a fast-paced, 24/7 operational environment that supports airline logistics and service delivery. The position offers a competitive salary range between $59,796.82 and $72,000 annually, reflecting the importance and demands of the role. The Transportation Supervisor will lead a team of more than 20 transportation staff members, ensuring that all airline flights receive the correct products promptly to maintain seamless operations and client satisfaction.

This position requires a hands-on leader who thrives in managing complex logistics and dynamic teams. The Supervisor will oversee daily transportation activities, including coordinating routes, drivers, and schedules to guarantee timely deliveries aligned with strict safety, regulatory, and internal standards. Emphasizing safety protocols, compliance with government regulations such as FDA, USDA, OSHA, EPA, DOT, and HACCP, this role requires meticulous attention to detail and accountability. The Supervisor will conduct daily work group meetings, manage labor productivity and overtime targets, and lead process improvement initiatives to optimize operations.

Job Requirements

  • bachelor’s degree or equivalent knowledge
  • minimum 3 years of transportation or logistics supervision experience
  • strong problem solving skills

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • ensure that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed and directed and that all delivery times are being met timely
  • accountable for coordinating drivers, routes, and schedules to support on-time departures while maintaining full compliance with safety, regulatory, and operational standards
  • conduct daily work group meetings
  • schedule and control staff to meet labor productivity and overtime targets
  • ensure compliance with all government regulatory agencies standards such as FDA, USDA, OSHA, EPA, DOT, HACCP
  • document and follow up on all department processes in order to implement improvements
  • ensure on-time and accurate production and/or catering of all flights
  • monitor and ensure compliance with all safety regulations
  • perform other duties as deemed necessary
