The current opportunity is for a Warehouse and Delivery Driver Supervisor, a critical role responsible for overseeing the daily activities of warehouse and delivery driver personnel. This position involves planning, directing, coordinating, and participating in tasks such as personnel scheduling and ensuring customer delivery obligations and standards are met. The supervisor plays a pivotal role in guaranteeing compliance with all relevant state and federal transportation regulations, particularly those enforced by the USDOT. Duties include managing route and vehicle assignments, training personnel, conducting performance evaluations, and maintaining essential records such as driver files and mileage logs.

This leadership role also requires proactive problem-solving, addressing customer complaints, and coordinating corrective action when needed. The supervisor is responsible for preserving vehicle maintenance standards and cleanliness, liaising with leasing companies to resolve service issues, and ensuring the safe operation of all vehicles. The position demands collaboration with other departments such as Operations, Product, Purchasing, and Sales to maintain accurate and comprehensive information. The supervisor may also be required to personally drive routes during peak periods and conduct regular staff meetings to communicate important updates and procedures.

The ideal candidate has at least one year of relevant experience and a strong commitment to safety, team management, and customer service excellence. This position is onsite and plays a crucial role in the efficient and compliant functioning of warehouse and delivery operations at The Chefs' Warehouse. Job Duties

  • Coordinate and supervise daily activities of warehouse/driver personnel including route assignments, vehicle assignments, customer deliveries and vendor pick-ups
  • ensure compliance with all USDOT requirements and other regulatory bodies related to vehicle use and maintenance, safe operation of vehicles, and required medical certifications
  • train warehouse/driver personnel to required standards and complete periodic evaluations of driver performance
  • maintain USDOT-required driver files
  • maintain and update work and duty schedules for warehouse/driver personnel
  • ensure that vehicles are clean and meet maintenance standards and requirements, report service issues to leasing company
  • respond to and resolve customer complaints including immediate problem-solving, coordinating response with sales personnel and applying corrective action or discipline as required
  • train warehouse/drivers in material handling both on and off the vehicle
  • evaluate employee performance regularly including scheduled road-testing and respond appropriately with reinforcement, coaching, or correction
  • execute accident investigation and insurance reporting in coordination with company officials and insurance representatives
  • monitor trip and dispatch logs and vehicle monitoring software for schedule conformance and maintain vehicle operation records
  • maintain mileage records for taxes and leasing company
  • gain proficiency in company sales processing software
  • drive routes during peak times as needed
  • conduct weekly staff meetings to share new procedures and company information
  • collaborate with Operations, Product, Purchasing, and Sales departments to ensure accurate and comprehensive information
