Intermountain Healthcare is a renowned nonprofit health system that has been serving communities in the Intermountain West for decades. Known for its commitment to improving healthcare through innovative approaches and compassionate patient care, Intermountain Healthcare operates a broad network of hospitals, clinics, and specialized services. The organization emphasizes not only clinical excellence and patient outcomes but also fostering a positive work environment for its employees. With a clear focus on community health and well-being, Intermountain Healthcare strives to be a leader in healthcare delivery, supporting both patients and healthcare providers alike in a collaborative atmosphere.
This position within Intermountain Healthcare is for a Courier Services Driver who acts as the essential link between facilities and organizations by transporting equipment, packages, specimens, and supplies. The role involves operating light or medium duty vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) of less than 10,000 pounds while ensuring prompt, professional, and high-quality delivery services. The Courier Services Driver represents the face of Intermountain Healthcare, making first impressions on customers, patients, and physicians, all the while maintaining safety and service excellence.
This role requires driving routes of varied lengths, from short local deliveries of a few miles to long distance routes exceeding 500 miles daily, primarily serving the needs of health system operations. The working schedule is Monday through Friday, 4:00 pm to 12:30 am, with no on-call or holiday sign-up requirements, presenting a balanced and predictable work routine.
Key responsibilities include ensuring safety by carefully managing driving conditions, placing high importance on meeting and exceeding customer service expectations, communicating effectively with multiple stakeholders, and managing work tasks efficiently. The position also calls for taking initiative by supporting departmental goals and adapting to changing business needs, showing an eagerness to improve processes and services.
Candidates must hold a valid driver’s license without restrictions, possess a Department of Transportation (DOT) Medical Card, and have at least six months of experience in customer service or logistics. Additional qualifications include compliance with Intermountain Healthcare’s Motor Vehicle Driver Policy, internet and email proficiency, and the ability to follow department procedures meticulously. The position requires applicants to be at least 21 years old in accordance with DOT regulations for commercial vehicle operation.
This is a full-time, 40-hour per week position located in South Jordan, Utah, within the Home Services division based in Salt Lake City. The hourly wage ranges from $18.30 to $23.79, commensurate with experience, providing competitive compensation for driven individuals. As part of Intermountain Healthcare’s commitment to employee wellbeing, this role includes access to a comprehensive benefits package designed to support physical, emotional, and financial health.
Beyond the functional delivery of logistics, this role emphasizes a culture of safety, customer focus, communication, and adaptability, offering a meaningful opportunity to contribute to a healthcare system dedicated to improving lives. Employees gain the satisfaction of working in a supportive environment with robust benefits, positive workplace culture, and a reputable employer committed to equal opportunity. Intermountain Healthcare employs advanced AI tools to enhance the hiring process, ensuring fairness and thorough candidate evaluation. Qualified applicants are invited to consider this rewarding career opportunity where their skills impact health outcomes and customer satisfaction daily.
