Job Description

The company hiring for the Training and Compliance Coordinator role is a manufacturing facility located in Salt Lake City, UT, specializing in molding processes. This organization operates in the highly specialized field of thermoplastic and liquid silicone rubber (LSR) injection molding, catering to industries that demand strict quality and compliance standards, such as medical device manufacturing. As a manufacturing entity, the company emphasizes quality production, continuous improvement, and employee training as key pillars to maintain its competitive edge and operational excellence. The workplace environment includes typical professional office settings combined with the requirements of clean room operations and manufacturing floor standards to ensure the highest quality in product output.

The Training and Compliance Coordinator position is a critical role within the Molding department, focused on ensuring that all molding employees are thoroughly trained and adhere strictly to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Standard Work methodologies. The role is fully onsite at the Salt Lake City facility, requiring the incumbent to be present 100% of the time. The coordinator is responsible for maintaining up-to-date training documentation through the company’s Change Management System and supporting continuous improvement (C.I.) initiatives that drive operational efficiencies and quality improvement within the molding department.

In this role, the coordinator works directly with molding production management and supervisors to align training efforts with compliance goals, ensuring all scheduled iLearning training courses are completed by employees across all four work shifts. The role also extends to specialized training in quality, safety, and other critical areas requiring additional focus. To achieve this, the coordinator conducts regular audits such as Quality and Safety Gemba Walks, identifying opportunities for further training or process improvement. Additionally, support for Lean and Six Sigma initiatives is a crucial part of the job, intended to reduce waste and optimize processes.

This position demands strong communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Word and Excel. The coordinator will devise formal technical training plans for process technicians and deliver training that can be either classroom-based or hands-on across all shifts, showcasing flexibility and adaptability. While previous trainer experience is preferred, it is not mandatory, and familiarity with Agile and Lean methodologies enhances candidate suitability.

Overall, this role offers an engaging opportunity to influence the compliance and continuous improvement culture of a leading molding manufacturing operation. It presents a dynamic blend of office and production floor environments, with a focus on quality, training, and process excellence in a manufacturing field that serves critical industries such as medical devices.
