The Traffic Control Supervisor (TCS) is a vital leadership role within our organization. This position oversees the safe and effective implementation of temporary traffic control (TTC) operations, directly impacting road user safety and project success. The TCS coordinates with field crews, clients, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and smooth traffic management. This role requires extensive knowledge of traffic control principles, excellent decision-making skills, and the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in fast-paced, safety-sensitive environments.

In this field-based supervisory role, the TCS is responsible for planning work zone layouts according to approved traffic control plans, conducting thorough site inspections before and after job completion, and ensuring all safety protocols and regulatory requirements are strictly followed. The supervisor facilitates communication between field crews and operational teams, responding in real-time to changing conditions and challenges encountered on site. They also lead safety meetings, enforce the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintain detailed documentation such as incident reports and equipment checklists.

The Traffic Control Supervisor’s responsibilities extend to managing the deployment and maintenance of traffic control devices like cones, signs, arrow boards, and crash trucks.
