The role of Lead Server at Tradition is crucial within the Dining Services team. Lead Servers play an integral role in supporting the front-of-house operations, ensuring that residents receive exceptional dining experiences marked by attentive service, engaging conversation, and thoughtful care. In this role, Lead Servers assist with setting up dining spaces, maintaining cleanliness and presentation standards, and occasionally preparing food items. They ensure that food and beverage areas remain organized and stocked, demonstrate familiarity with menu offerings, and help answer resident questions. They also provide meal service assistance as needed and sometimes serve meals alongside the service team. Lead Servers are ambassadors for the organization's mission, vision, and values, promoting a nurturing and respectful dining atmosphere. Candidates will need to pass background checks and may have to complete additional pre-employment screenings such as physical exams and TB tests, aligning with state and local regulations. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least two years of previous serving experience in a restaurant, hotel, or similar setting
  • Senior living experience strongly preferred
  • 1 to 2 years of previous supervisory experience preferred
  • Detail oriented, efficient, with a collaborative attitude and dedication to excellent service
  • Excellent verbal and written communication to serve our guests and team members
  • Able to perform basic arithmetic calculations
  • Basic computer proficiency to process point-of-sale and other transactions
  • Completion of background check, drug screen, and may require other pre-employment tasks such as physical, TB test, and fingerprinting per state/local guidelines

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Support our Dining Services staff in all aspects of front-of-house duties
  • Facilitate an extraordinary dining experience for our residents
  • Help set up tables, maintaining high standards for cleanliness and presentation
  • On occasion, set up and prepare food items
  • Keep the food and beverage area organized and fully stocked
  • Be familiar with the menu for each meal to assure all items are available and to answer the residents' questions
  • Help residents with any meal service assistance they might request or require
  • On occasion, serve meals alongside our service team
  • Promote the Mission, Vision and Values of Transforming Age and our Affiliates
  • Perform other duties as assigned
