The position of Trades Staff HVAC Technician at Woodward Academy is a critical role within the Facilities department, reporting directly to the Trades Supervisor and Assistant Director of Facilities-Operations. This full-time, twelve-month, non-exempt position is essential to maintaining the integrity and functionality of the school's physical plant. The HVAC Technician will be responsible for operating, servicing, and maintaining a variety of HVAC equipment including split systems, water source heat pumps, cooling towers, air handlers, and rooftop package units. Additionally, the technician supports the broader trades systems across the campus under the direction of senior trades personnel.
The role demands a proactive approach to preventive maintenance (PM) and repairs to ensure all systems are operating efficiently and safely. This includes regular inspections and performance of hands-on repairs to equipment, managing procurement and inventory of necessary supplies, and maintaining detailed records of all maintenance activities through the TMA database system. The position also requires the technician to uphold stringent safety standards, potentially leading safety meetings when requested, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory practices related to facilities operations.

- Valid Georgia Driver's License
- Acceptable driving record
- Ability to work independently
- Strong customer service skills

- Ability to climb ladders and operate various lifts

Job Duties
- Responsible for the maintenance and PMs of split systems, water source heat pumps, cooling towers, air handlers, rooftop package units and all HVAC equipment
- Responsible for maintenance and PMs of all trades systems of the school under supervisory guidance
- Responsible for repair and replacement of outdoor street lighting and poles
- Procuring and maintaining supplies for trades and HVAC work
- Ensuring adherence to safety regulations and leading safety meetings when required
- Maintaining comprehensive records of work performed
- Maintaining assigned vehicle and its contents
- Maintaining physical plant repair center information in TMA database including work orders and preventive maintenance input
- Performing other duties as assigned by supervisory staff
