Job Description
Makita USA is a globally recognized leader in the professional power tool industry, renowned for its commitment to quality, innovation, and customer satisfaction. Established over 100 years ago, Makita has consistently set benchmarks in manufacturing by using the finest raw materials, advanced equipment, and rigorous quality testing to deliver durable and high-performance tools. Headquartered in La Mirada, California, with additional offices in Reno, Nevada; Wilmer, Texas; and Flowery Branch, Georgia, Makita USA has been providing best-in-class engineering solutions to professional power tool users across America since 1970. The company's extensive product range includes industry-leading battery-powered tools, outdoor power equipment, vacuums, lighting, radios, job site apparel, and premium accessories, all designed with a focus on power, performance, ergonomics, and user comfort.
The Trade Show Specialist role at Makita USA offers a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the company's success by planning, coordinating, and executing trade shows and events that showcase Makita's innovative product line. This full-time position based in La Mirada, CA, is integral in enhancing brand visibility and driving demand among professional contractors, hardware dealers, distributors, and media. Responsibilities include managing trade show calendars and budgets, collaborating with multiple departments such as senior communications, product management, marketing, and operations, and ensuring the flawless execution of trade shows from booth design to on-site management. This role involves hands-on activities like booth set-up, inventory management of trade show assets, and the creation of engaging product demonstrations.
The Trade Show Specialist plays a crucial role in communicating the Makita Advantage – highlighting tools known not only for their superior power and efficiency but also for reduced noise, less vibration, lower weight, and outstanding ergonomics. The position requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can manage multiple projects simultaneously. Candidates with experience in trade show coordination, budget management, and a good understanding of marketing and communications will find this position rewarding. Makita USA supports its employees with a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with company match, paid time off, employee discounts, tuition reimbursement, and opportunities for professional growth. Travel is expected up to 15% of the time for this role, mainly to support trade show attendance and coordination.
This job offers a competitive salary range of $70,000 to $80,000 annually and invites candidates who are eager to be part of an innovative, team-oriented, and supportive work culture. If you have a passion for marketing, event coordination, and the power tool industry, joining Makita USA as a Trade Show Specialist will empower you to develop your career in a dynamic and supportive environment that values hard work, dedication, and innovation.
