The Food Station Worker role at Sodexo, particularly located at the University of Cincinnati Main Campus, is a part-time position payable between $15 and $18 per hour. This role is crucial for supporting the company’s high-volume food operations based on events, including the preparation, storage, and service of food and beverages in food courts. The position demands a fast-paced work ethic focusing on speed of service, product availability, cleanliness, and teamwork during live events. Food Station Workers may be stationed at permanent counters, portable or mobile units, kiosks, standalone retail shops, or support areas. The scope of service includes ready-to-go products, made-to-order items, or pre-packaged food and drinks, with responsibilities that can change according to the location, event type, and operational needs.
Key responsibilities for the Food Station Worker include preparing, assembling, and serving food and drinks according to established recipes, portion standards, and operational procedures. Operating basic food service equipment such as warmers, grills, fryers, or beverage dispensers is an essential part of the job. Physical stamina is needed as lifting and moving items up to 35 pounds frequently, and occasionally 40 pounds is required. Punctuality and attendance are critical, reflecting Sodexo's dedication to operational excellence. Additionally, other duties may be assigned depending on business demands and client requirements. This role offers a flexible and supportive work environment geared towards accommodating important life moments, coupled with ongoing training and career development prospects. Employees benefit from a comprehensive package including paid time off, holidays, medical, dental and vision insurance, tuition reimbursement, 401(k) plans, discount programs, and more. Some locations also offer site-specific perks such as free meals during shifts, uniforms, safety shoes, transportation support, and parking.
