The Concessions Supervisor role at Toyota Arena, reporting directly to the Concessions Manager, offers a part-time position compensated at $29.25 per hour. This position is unionized under the collective bargaining agreement with Unite Here Local 11, and union membership is a condition of employment. The supervisor will play a critical role in overseeing concessions and bar operations during event days, ensuring a seamless, enjoyable guest experience across all food and beverage offerings.

As a Concessions Supervisor, your primary responsibility will be to assist the Concessions Manager in managing the daily operations of concessions outlets and bars at Toyota Arena. You will oversee the preparations required prior to guests' arrival, such as setting up concession stands and bars according to organizational standards and event-specific requirements. Supervising and training concessions and bar staff is a key component of your role, emphasizing adherence to department standards and customer service excellence. You will be required to read and interpret par sheets, stand sheets, and requisition orders to maintain necessary inventory and coordinate with the kitchen and warehouse to meet event demands effectively.

This position demands strong communication skills to bridge between different teams, efficient floor management capabilities to ensure operational success, and the ability to enforce responsible alcohol service policies. Additionally, you will analyze and resolve issues that arise during events, supporting team members and contributing to an impactful guest experience by ensuring courteous, professional service. Responsibilities include managing catering requests, facilitating timely deliveries from the warehouse, maintaining cleanliness and safety standards, conducting end-of-month inventories, and implementing best practices for food and beverage presentation and service.

The Concessions Supervisor must be adaptive and capable of handling last-minute operational changes, conducting pre-function meetings, and proposing improvements in conjunction with the Concessions Manager. A positive and professional demeanor is essential, as is promoting a cooperative working environment that maximizes employee morale and productivity. This position requires compliance with all company policies, the human resources code of conduct, and strict confidentiality regarding client information. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and the capability to physically perform tasks such as standing for prolonged periods and lifting up to 25 pounds are also critical prerequisites.

Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in food and beverage management or related field desired
  • Minimum 1-2 years experience in supervisory role in food and beverage or equivalent training
  • Previous customer service and cash handling experience preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of food production, purchasing, and sanitation procedures
  • Ability to define problems and propose solutions
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Positive attitude and professional appearance
  • Valid food handler's card required
  • TIPS certification preferred
  • Knowledge of state and local health and alcohol ordinances
  • Strong customer service orientation

  • Basic math skills for inventory counting

Job Duties

  • Ensure all concessions outlets and designated bar areas are properly set before guests arrive
  • Oversee concessions and bar staff during events
  • Train concessions and bar staff on department standards and procedures
  • Read and understand par sheets, stand sheets, and requisition orders
  • Maintain existing equipment needed for outlet areas and bars
  • Order all replacement items and equipment under direction of concessions manager
  • Ensure all requisitions to warehouse and kitchen are received timely and according to company policy
  • Coordinate with kitchen on timing and production of functions
  • Communicate effectively between kitchen and warehouse teams
  • Pre-plan and execute event day operations
  • Manage floor operations and staff supervision
  • Communicate schedule changes with event manager
  • Follow responsible alcohol service policies
  • Supervise and provide feedback to concessions attendants
  • Deliver professional and courteous guest service
  • Facilitate catering requests and orders
  • Analyze and resolve operational problems
  • Learn menu items and complete financial transactions
  • Ensure timely delivery of event day orders and resolve discrepancies
  • Maintain clean, organized, stocked, and safe outlet areas
  • Report low inventory and maintenance issues
  • Assist with opening and closing duties
  • Perform end-of-month inventory
  • Oversee proper presentation, preparation, and service standards
  • Execute last-minute changes and conduct pre-function meetings
  • Recommend and implement new standards with manager approval
  • Foster a positive work climate and maximize employee morale
  • Adhere to client confidentiality and company policies
  • Perform other duties as assigned
