We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Room and Housekeeping Supervisor to join our dynamic team. This role plays a pivotal part in overseeing the cleaning and maintenance of guest rooms, suites, and public areas, ensuring they meet stringent hotel and brand standards. The ideal candidate will train and supervise Room and House Attendants, conduct visual inspections of rooms and suites, manage inventory, and coordinate housekeeping schedules. This supervisory position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to lead and motivate a diverse team.

The Room and Housekeeping Supervisor acts as a crucial link between housekeeping staff and management, reporting directly to the Director, Assistant Director, and Housekeeping Manager. Beyond routine inspections and reporting, this role involves monitoring payroll and lost-and-found programs, maintaining stock supplies, and ensuring efficient communication with Engineering and Property Operations for maintenance and repair tasks. Customer service excellence is also a key responsibility, assisting guests with information about hotel services, activities, and local attractions.

To succeed in this role, candidates should demonstrate proficiency in inspecting multiple rooms daily, effective communication skills, and an ability to uphold all safety and operational standards. Physical stamina is necessary to perform duties that include lifting, carrying, and moving furniture and supplies. The role demands a hands-on approach as occasionally, the supervisor may also clean rooms themselves to maintain quality standards. Familiarity with property management systems and inventory control is highly valued.

Job Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred
  • 1-2 years housekeeping supervisory experience in hotel preferred
  • 4 or more years hotel housekeeping experience
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs maximum with frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs
  • Ability to walk or stand to a significant degree
  • Ability to reach, handle, feel, talk, hear, and see
  • Ability to maintain a drug-free workplace
  • Ability to pass pre-employment substance abuse testing

Job Qualifications

  • Read, write and speak English fluently
  • Knowledge of other languages especially Spanish is a plus
  • Knowledge of inventories, scheduling and productivity
  • High school math level required
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the public and other team members verbally and in written form
  • Ability to inspect multiple rooms per day
  • Ability to clean rooms when needed
  • Physically able to move and or operate large objects such as room attendant's carts, suite furniture, large bags of linen, vacuum cleaners and boxes of inventory
  • Ability to follow and enforce all hotel standards including safety procedures and able to recognize and act in emergency situations
  • Knowledge of and ability to operate computer

Job Duties

  • Inspect rooms, complete reports, verify status reports
  • Report clean suites to hotel front desk and or load into automated property management systems
  • Check rooms inventory, assign rooms to room or suite attendants
  • Monitor payroll reports and work schedules
  • Monitor lost and found program
  • Ensure stock rooms and carts are maintained with proper supplies
  • Provide customer service to guests internally and externally including information about hotel services, activities, and local attractions
  • Promote team member loyalty and empowerment
  • Communicate and coordinate with Engineering and Property Operations the repair and maintenance program as related to guestrooms and public areas
  • Conduct quarterly linen inventory
