Job Description

The FIFA World Cup 26 is set to be an unprecedented global sporting event, marking the first time in history that the tournament will feature 48 teams and be hosted collaboratively by three countries: Canada, Mexico, and the United States. This ambitious event is poised to redefine the standards of excellence in international soccer, creating unprecedented opportunities for fan engagement and player participation across North America and the world. As a result, the operation and execution of this mega event require a highly dedicated and dynamic workforce that can thrive in a fast-paced, high-performance environment. The tournament offers a once-in-a-lifetime chance to be a part of an extraordinary global event, contributing to the flawless delivery of an unforgettable experience for millions of fans worldwide.

The hiring organization is looking for Tournament Operations Talent based in Houston to support the readiness of venues, match-day operations, and live event delivery at stadiums and event sites across host cities. This fixed-term contract role involves essential responsibilities such as assisting with venue setup, coordinating staff, managing workflows, facilitating crowd flow and access control, and ensuring operational standards for facilities and infrastructure. Operatives will play a central role in delivering high-quality guest and fan experiences and maintaining compliance with safety and security protocols. Collaborating cross-functionally, this position requires addressing operational issues and escalating them as necessary to ensure smooth event delivery.

The role encompasses a wide variety of operational domains, including access, accreditation, and ticketing; broadcast, media, and content services; commercial partnerships; fan and hospitality operations; safety and security; team and competition services; transportation and movement coordination; venue and event operations; and workforce and volunteer management. Some work assignments may also occur off-site, including at airports, hotels, fan zones, media centers, transport hubs, and various other stakeholder locations, demanding flexibility and adaptability from candidates.

Ideal candidates will bring previous experience in event operations, logistics, hospitality, or related fields, possess strong communication and teamwork skills, and thrive in dynamic, high-pressure environments. The role demands excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the physical ability to stand, walk, and work on-site for extended periods. Flexible availability is crucial, including readiness to work evenings, weekends, and match or event days. The contract is based in Houston, but the nature of the tournament means shifts may vary widely, including early mornings, late nights, and extended shifts.

The organization prides itself on an inclusive, equitable, and diverse workforce, being a proud equal opportunity employer that strictly prohibits discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, pregnancy, age, national origin, disability, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic. Joining this team offers an exciting opportunity to be at the heart of a historic global event, contributing to its success and fostering unforgettable fan experiences throughout the tournament.
