Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in tourism, hospitality, marketing, economic development, business administration, or related field
  • Minimum of four years experience managing or coordinating events in a convention or conference center environment
  • Valid New Mexico driver’s license or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire
  • Demonstrated ability to write and manage grants
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in tourism, hospitality, marketing, economic development, business administration, or related field
  • Minimum of four years experience managing or coordinating events in a convention or conference center environment
  • Experience with grant writing, administration, and compliance highly desirable
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to develop and implement effective marketing strategies
  • Knowledge of regional and national tourism trends
  • Proficiency in budget management and financial reporting
  • Valid New Mexico driver’s license or ability to obtain within 30 days

Job Duties

  • Provides financial oversight of the County’s tourism and event marketing strategies
  • Plans and coordinates event staffing and advance planning of the Event Center
  • Develops policies, procedures, and facility management guidelines
  • Generates and implements marketing plans for the Event Center
  • Facilitates relationships with hotels, restaurants, and attractions
  • Administers grant funding including writing, compliance, and oversight
  • Conducts presentations and educational programs for stakeholders
