As part of its commitment to economic development, the City maintains a dedicated Economic Development Department that works actively to boost tourism, support local enterprises, and build community partnerships. Yukon prides itself on blending its historic charm, such as the iconic Route 66, with modern amenities to attract visitors and investors alike.

The Tourism & Destination Marketing Coordinator role is an essential full-time position within the Economic Development Department. This role is designed to amplify Yukon's presence in the tourism market by developing and executing various marketing campaigns focused on destination promotion and visitor engagement. The coordinator will manage digital communications and social media accounts with the goal of attracting tourists and promoting events that showcase Yukon’s unique assets. Responsibilities include developing creative content such as graphics, photography, video, and written materials that engage audiences across multiple platforms.

This position also supports collaborative efforts with hotels, attractions, businesses, community organizations, and regional partners to enhance the visitor experience and strengthen public-private partnerships. A key focus is the promotion of Route 66 initiatives, which are integral to Yukon's tourism identity. Moreover, the role requires measuring the effectiveness of campaigns through analytics and reporting, ensuring data-driven decision making that maximizes outreach and impact. Administrative responsibilities include supporting tourism committees, handling visitor inquiries, and providing vital support to ensure smooth operations of marketing initiatives. Working under the general supervision of the Economic Development Director, this position involves frequent interaction with the community and requires a professional demeanor, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to building strong relationships.
