The role on offer is within the esteemed One World Observatory, located atop the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere, occupying levels 100, 101, and 102 of One World Trade Center in New York City. This unique venue provides breathtaking panoramic views of New York's skyline, landmarks, and surrounding waters from an impressive height of 1,250 feet. The Observatory enhances the guest experience through customized, interactive elements, dining options, and an upscale sit-down restaurant, making it a standout tourist destination recognized with numerous prestigious awards such as the Concierge Choice Awards, Themed Entertainment Association's Thea Awards, and TripAdvisor's Top U.S. Trending Summer Attraction. As a Tour Ambassador at the Observatory, you take on a dynamic, interactive role essential to delivering immersive and memorable guest experiences. This position requires you to engage visitors fully, share insightful historical and cultural information, and lead compelling tours that highlight the significance of New York City's landmarks and the Observatory's features. The role demands outstanding customer service skills, a commanding presence, and the ability to communicate clearly and enthusiastically. You will work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to ensure that all guests receive a top-tier experience. The Tour Ambassador not only acts as a welcoming face and knowledgeable guide but also ensures guest safety and satisfaction throughout their visit, making this an exciting opportunity for those passionate about hospitality, history, and live events. The position offers a competitive hourly wage of $25.00 plus participation in a 401(k) plan, reinforcing Legends and ASM Global's commitment to employee welfare and career growth.

Job Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old
minimum of three years’ tour guide or related experience
ability to work extended hours and flexible shifts including mornings, nights, weekends and holidays
ability to stand for extended periods
ability to lift items up to 50 pounds
mastery of English language verbal and written
ability to adhere to company uniform standards and maintain a well-groomed appearance
strong customer service and communication skills

Job Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years old
bachelor’s degree or equivalent training – preferred
minimum of three (3) years’ tour guide or related experience – preferably in an attraction, entertainment or hospitality environment
NYC tour guide license – preferred
existing knowledge of NYC history and familiarity with NYC landmarks – preferred
multilingual – a plus
must be naturally personable, friendly, and welcoming
must possess the highest level of demonstrable professionalism and customer service
naturally creative and innovative
a quick learner with ability to handle/prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines
skilled in Microsoft Office Suite of applications (i.e., Excel
PowerPoint
Word) – interest and proficiency in interactive presentations and social media a plus
an entrepreneurial spirit, coupled with an energetic and outgoing personality
mastery of the English language (verbal and written)
excellent verbal and written communication skills
ability to effectively listen and take direction/instruction
ability to effectively communicate with team members and guests
ability to work extended hours and flexible shifts including mornings, nights, weekends and holidays
ability to stand for extended periods as well as constantly patrol the observatory floor
ability to strictly adhere to company uniform standards, including the ability to maintain personal hygiene and a well-groomed appearance per appearance policy at all times
ability to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds

Job Duties

Greet all guests as they enter assigned areas
ensure safety of all guests while waiting on tour or in assigned areas
provide facts and historical information about the city, visible landmarks
point out features of interest, speaking at length with regard, and answering related questions
conduct in-depth, specialized talks, and walking tours of the Observatory
provide the highest level of customer service for the guest, resolving issues, and referring any issue that is unable to be satisfactorily addressed to a supervisor/leader-on-duty
create and prepare specified tour material as needed
perform and present information in a concise, legible manner to guests – speaking clearly and loudly with a commanding presence is a must
work non-traditional hours, nights, weekends, and holidays – as necessary
perform other duties as assigned by leadership
