Job Requirements
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, product pricing codes, shelf tags, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 45 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds
- Food Handler Card or equivalent certification required
- Willingness to stand, walk, and kneel for extended periods
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience in food service or retail preferred
- Ability to read and comprehend product labels, pricing codes, and instructions
- Effective communication skills for customer interaction
- Basic PC and Outlook skills a plus
- Retail management certificate is advantageous
Job Duties
- Provide friendly, courteous, and helpful service to customers
- Clean, fill, and rotate tortilla displays
- Assist in making a variety of different tortillas and masa
- Follow food safety and handling procedures including holding a Food Handler Card
- Lift, move, and stock products up to 60 pounds
- Communicate effectively in one-on-one and group situations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the Tortilleria area
