The role available is within the Toledo Complex, which features both the Huntington Center and the Glass City Center. Reporting to the Director of Food & Beverage, the position plays a vital role in ensuring that all food and beverage services across these venues meet the highest standards of quality and cost-efficiency. The person in this position will oversee catering events, private functions, and suite operations, ensuring exceptional service execution from start to finish. This is a hands-on role requiring active engagement during events to maintain organizational details, effective labor management, sanitation practices, and customer service excellence. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment where customer satisfaction and operational excellence are top priorities. With competitive compensation ranging from $80,000 to $100,000 annually plus a generous benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, paid vacation, and a 401k plan, this role is ideal for qualified food and beverage professionals looking to advance their careers in a renowned company.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent food service experience preferred
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in a catering environment preferred
  • Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience
  • Experience working with Excel, Word, and Outlook Microsoft 365, preferred
  • Experience with Catering software used in F&B
  • Ability to pass ServSafe Managers Training & Alcoholic Beverage Service Training
  • Ability to handle multiple events in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to manage and direct employees effectively
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to handle cash transactions
  • Strong sense of urgency

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent food service experience preferred
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in a catering environment preferred
  • Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience
  • Experience working with Excel, Word, and Outlook Microsoft 365, preferred
  • Experience with Catering software used in F&B
  • Strong working knowledge of catering and banquet operations
  • Excellent guest service skills and a strong focus on customer satisfaction
  • Ability to effectively manage employees
  • Must be able to always maintain a professional demeanor with patrons as well as employees
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must have the ability to pass ServSafe Managers Training & Alcoholic Beverage Service Training
  • Ability to handle multiple events in a fast-paced environment in a professional manner
  • Hands-on experience with MS Office applications: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to handle cash transactions
  • Strong sense of urgency

Job Duties

  • Ensures all banquet event order information to ensure successful execution of catered events
  • Partner with Director of Food & Beverage and Executive Chef to ensure all catering events are executed consistently and in line with company and client standards
  • Hire all employees and ensure all employees are interviewed, hired, trained according to assigned roles
  • Oversee order compilation and placing of linen, beverage & disposable ware orders
  • Ensure function details with sales are shared with staff, event coordinators, and culinary staff
  • Coordinate food set-up and/or delivery time with culinary staff
  • Prepare pre-event meetings with catering staff
  • Direct and supervise all catering staff to ensure high-quality service
  • Maintain an active presence during events with close attention to organizational details, customer service, sanitation, and labor allocation
  • Enforce cleanliness and sanitation practices of catering services
  • Manage labor force to ensure efficiency and timeliness of duties
  • Oversee opening/closing duties
  • Assist with retail services and bars when the schedule allows
  • Supervise all catering staff in a manner consistent with Legends Global Human Resource Policies and Procedures
  • Promote a safe work environment and report any potential hazards
  • Assist with ongoing training of all Catering Services staff as necessary
  • Contribute to maintaining weekly labor cost goals while ensuring high-quality service, sanitation, and product usage practices are followed
  • Assist in monthly food and beverage inventories & periodic small wares inventories
  • Execute all coaching, counseling, and follow up training for all employees
  • Supports Catering Managers with staffing budgets and maintains financial accountabilities as it relates to service
