The role in question is based at The Toledo Complex, which includes the Huntington Center and the Glass City Center in Toledo, OH. This position operates under the direction of the Director of Food & Beverage and is pivotal in supporting all concessions operations across both venues. The role entails comprehensive management responsibilities including overseeing service execution, daily operations, staff supervision, and maintaining inventory standards related to food and beverage functions. A key focus is inventory control with an emphasis on forecasting and production needs to ensure efficiency and profitability. The ideal candidate will supervise concessions employees in all aspects related to food and beverage preparation, service, and clean-up, while also managing budgeting elements such as food storage, sales, and labor costs. Moreover, this role demands coordination with warehouse supervisors for purchasing and careful management of menus and pricing in partnership with the Director. Exceptional customer service, adherence to health and safety regulations, and compliance with corporate initiatives are essential aspects of the job. The position requires an individual who is adaptable to working extended and irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, with a firm commitment to regular attendance. Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- 1 to 2 years' related experience and/or training
- Previous management experience in a similar venue
- ServSafe Manager Certification
- ServSafe Alcohol Certification
- ServSafe Allergen Certification
- Must be able to pass a background and credit check
- Ability to work extended and irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays
- Regular attendance is essential
- Ability to manage several direct reports
- Experience with POS software
- Ability to function in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university desired
- 1 to 2 years' related experience and/or training
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Previous management experience in a similar venue
- ServSafe Manager Certification
- ServSafe Alcohol Certification
- ServSafe Allergen Certification
- Demonstrated ability to control costs and generate increased revenue
- Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills
- Ability to navigate constant change
- Ability to function in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Ability to train workers in food preparation and cooking for quality and efficiency
- Ability to manage several direct reports
- Experience with Excel, Word, and Outlook Microsoft 365 preferred
- Experience with POS software used in food and beverage
Job Duties
- Supervise concessions employees in the preparation and service of food and refreshments, as well as clean-up
- Assist in the training of concessions employees engaged in preparing and cooking food to ensure high quality, efficient and profitable food service
- Create a positive customer experience and maintain a pleasant attitude when working with staff and customers
- Work with Warehouse Supervisor to purchase concessions product according to anticipated demand and familiarity with public taste
- Collaborate with Director to determine menu and price
- Direct food storage, preparation, and serving of retail products at concession stands
- Tabulate receipts, balance accounts and generate reports for Finance
- Inventory all products located in concession stands at the end of each day
- Manage food and labor costs within guidelines
- Comply with Corporate initiatives, Health Department and ABC regulations
- Schedule team using ABIMM for events and day work
- Staff and manage team at Huntington Center and Glass City Center
- Work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays as needed
- Ensure regular attendance
- Perform other duties as assigned
