Job Description

Oak View Group (OVG) is a globally recognized leader in premium live entertainment infrastructure and services. Established in 2015, OVG operates across multiple continents, managing and developing some of the world’s most iconic venues including arenas, stadiums, convention centers, music festivals, performing arts centers, and cultural institutions. The company offers comprehensive venue management, hospitality, and sponsorship sales services, ensuring memorable experiences for diverse audiences and clients. OVG is known for its innovative approach to live entertainment, combining world-class infrastructure with exceptional customer service and operational excellence.

The Iowa Events Center and Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa, is one of OVG’s premier venues, hosting a wide range of events including concerts, sporting events, conventions, and cultural gatherings. As part of its commitment to safety and exceptional guest experiences, OVG is currently seeking a dedicated part-time Event Security team member to join their security workforce. This role is key to maintaining a safe and secure environment for all attendees, staff, performers, and participants during events held at these venues.

The Event Security position is designed to provide professional security services during event days and potentially during special security assignments on non-event days or nights. Working as part of a dynamic team, the security personnel are the frontline representatives responsible for protecting property, preventing incidents, and ensuring smooth event operations. The role requires a vigilant, courteous, and professional demeanor while engaging with guests and handling any security-related situations that arise.

This part-time position offers a competitive hourly wage of $65.00, reflecting the importance of security in live entertainment settings and the level of responsibility the role carries. Despite being a part-time role, the position benefits from OVG’s 401(k) savings plan with matching, supporting employees in their long-term financial planning.

In this role, candidates will be tasked with patrolling the venue both on foot and by vehicle, assessing situations independently, securing the venue against damage, theft, or vandalism, and responding promptly to emergencies and incidents. Accurate record-keeping and maintaining logs as directed by the Security Manager are also crucial duties to ensure accountability and information flow.

Successful candidates will bring a blend of security experience, particularly in event or venue settings, and a proactive, customer-service-oriented mindset. OVG values flexibility and resilience, expecting security officers to adapt quickly to changing situations while maintaining composure and professionalism. Moreover, the physical demands of the job require the ability to work in various environmental conditions and the capacity to lift or move heavy objects when necessary.

Joining Oak View Group means becoming part of a diverse and inclusive community committed to innovation and service excellence. OVG strongly advocates for equal employment opportunities and seeks to amplify diverse voices to enhance its workplace and the services it delivers. Potential candidates can expect a collaborative environment where safety, respect, and excellence are paramount, making this an excellent opportunity for those passionate about live entertainment and security.
