One of the key OVG-managed venues is the PPL Center in downtown Allentown, Pennsylvania. The PPL Center is a state-of-the-art multipurpose arena and the home of the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, the American Hockey League affiliate of the NHL's Philadelphia Flyers. The arena accommodates over 10,000 guests during concerts and more than 8,500 for hockey games, making it the largest events venue in the region. With over 150 events annually, the venue hosts a wide array of activities, including live concerts, family shows, trade shows, youth sports, collegiate events, conferences, and graduations, ensuring a vibrant and dynamic atmosphere year-round.

Located within the PPL Center, Chickie's & Pete's is a full-service bar and restaurant that serves lunch Tuesday through Friday and operates during events. The restaurant is known for its engaging environment and quality service, catering to both local patrons and visitors attending the multitude of events at the arena. Chickie's & Pete's prides itself on maintaining high standards in hospitality and food service.

The Restaurant Supervisor position at Chickie's & Pete's is a part-time role offering an hourly wage between $17.00 and $20.00. This role is vital to the daily operations of the restaurant, reporting to and supporting the General Manager. The Restaurant Supervisor is responsible for overseeing team members to ensure they meet and exceed guests' expectations by delivering superior service and maintaining operational excellence.

Key responsibilities include ensuring compliance with Chickie's & Pete's service and operational standards, supervising the restaurant team, maintaining a clean and well-stocked work environment, and adhering to all food safety and liquor laws. The Supervisor also handles Point of Sale (POS) duties such as cashiering functions, troubleshooting technical problems, and mentoring staff to develop their skills. A strong emphasis is placed on communication, teamwork, and delivering a high-quality guest experience.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year supervisory experience in restaurant setting

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1+ years of supervisory experience as a supervisor/manager in a fast-paced restaurant environment
  • 2-3 years of experience in fast-paced, high-volume food court, casual, buffet, or nightclub supervisory roles preferred
  • Must acquire and maintain valid Health Food Handlers Card and Alcohol Awareness Certification within 60 days of hire
  • Ability to handle cash accurately and responsibly
  • Ability to calculate basic math functions related to POS cash/credit transactions, cash reconciliation, and product inventory
  • Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with team members, management, and guests
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment

Job Duties

  • Follow all Chickie's & Pete's service, operational, and company standards
  • Provide support to General Manager in daily operations of the restaurant
  • Ensure team members maintain knowledge of the menu and any specials being offered
  • Supervise the team in maintaining a clean and presentable work area
  • Ensure the venues are stocked and prepared for service at all times
  • Comply and ensure compliance with liquor laws regarding alcohol service
  • Comply with all departmental food and franchise contractual agreements
  • Perform POS duties in regards to voids, comps, splitting checks, gratuities
  • Coordinate troubleshooting technical problems with POS system, facilities, equipment, and contact appropriate support
  • Provide on-going supervision and mentoring to team members
  • Monitor product quality and ensure high level of guest service
  • Maintain excellent attendance and be available to work events and varied schedules
  • Communicate positively and respectfully to internal and external guests
