The position of Restaurant Supervisor at the University of Kansas Social Club, managed by Oak View Group, presents a vital role within their food and beverage management team. This full-time role is based in Lawrence, Kansas, and offers an hourly wage ranging from $22.00 to $28.00. The Restaurant Supervisor is entrusted with overseeing the restaurant team, ensuring superior service standards, and guaranteeing that all operations run smoothly during their shifts. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2-3+ years supervisory experience in a restaurant or club environment
  • Experience in fast-paced food service settings preferred
  • Valid Health Food Handlers Card and Alcohol Awareness Certification required
  • Ability to handle cash accurately
  • Strong basic math skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team and fast-paced environment
  • Excellent attendance and schedule flexibility including nights, weekends, and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2-3+ years supervisory experience as a supervisor or manager in a restaurant or club environment
  • Experience working in fast-paced, high-volume food court, casual dining, buffet, or club in a supervisory role preferred
  • Must acquire and maintain valid Health Food Handlers Card, Alcohol Awareness Certification, Suspicious Activity, and other required compliance trainings
  • Ability to handle cash accurately and responsibly
  • Ability to calculate basic math functions related to POS cash and credit transactions, cash reconciliation, and product inventory
  • Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with team members, management, and guests
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment
  • Must maintain excellent attendance and availability for varied schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • Supervises shift coverage and coordinates breaks for team members
  • Ensures team members maintain knowledge of the menu and any specials being offered
  • Supervises the team in maintaining a clean and presentable work area
  • Ensures venues are stocked and prepared for service at all times
  • Complies and ensures compliance with liquor laws regarding alcohol service
  • Complies with all departmental food and franchise contractual agreements
  • Conducts end-of-shift reports for cashiers on shift
  • Coordinates troubleshooting of technical problems with Point of Sale systems, facilities, and equipment
  • Provides ongoing supervision and mentoring to team members
  • Monitors product quality and ensures a high level of guest service
  • Coordinates ongoing coaching and mentoring of the team as directed by department management
  • Communicates in a positive, respectful manner to both internal and external guests
