Job Description
Oak View Group (OVG) is a global leader in premium live entertainment infrastructure and services. Established in 2015, the company has rapidly become an influential force in the live entertainment industry, with an impressive portfolio spanning venue development, management, hospitality, and sponsorship sales. Headquartered in the United States, OVG operates a collection of seven world-class owned venues and represents a client roster featuring some of the most iconic arenas, stadiums, convention centers, music festivals, performing arts centers, and cultural institutions across four continents. The company is committed to delivering exceptional experiences through innovative infrastructure and comprehensive service offerings that meet the evolving demands of the live entertainment market.
One of OVG’s prestigious properties is the Utah Valley Convention Center, located in historic downtown Provo, Utah. Opened in 2012, the Utah Valley Convention Center has established itself as the premiere meeting space in Utah County, celebrated for its modern architecture and flexible event spaces. It offers breathtaking views of the nearby Wasatch Mountains, combining natural beauty with a highly functional floor plan that makes it an ideal venue for a wide variety of events ranging from corporate meetings, conventions, banquets, to social gatherings.
The company is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Prep Cook for a part-time position at the Utah Valley Convention Center. This role plays a vital part in the kitchen team by efficiently preparing and cooking food while maintaining strict cleanliness and safety standards. The Prep Cook supports the executive chef and kitchen staff by cutting, peeling, and preparing ingredients, assembling dishes, and ensuring all kitchen stations and equipment are clean and organized. The position offers an hourly wage ranging from $15.00 to $16.00, with additional benefits such as a 401(k) savings plan and matching, even for part-time employees.
The Prep Cook will be responsible for preparing foods according to banquet orders, setting up hot and cold plates, and arranging food on serving dishes, which are then given to wait staff for customer service. The role requires collaboration with supervisors, peers, and subordinates to ensure a smooth kitchen operation and event service. Physical demands include handling and moving objects, and performing activities that involve the whole body. The position also involves careful monitoring of events, materials, and surroundings to maintain top-quality standards.
Oak View Group values diversity and inclusivity, recognizing that a varied team strengthens innovation, enhances service quality, and reflects the diverse communities they serve. The company is an equal opportunity employer, committed to non-discrimination on any legally protected basis.
This position will remain open until August 7, 2026, offering interested candidates ample time to apply and become part of a dynamic company dedicated to excellence in live entertainment and hospitality services.
