Job Description

Oak View Group (OVG) is a recognized global leader in premium live entertainment infrastructure and services. Established in 2015, OVG operates across four continents, managing a portfolio that includes seven world-class venues and an impressive client roster comprising iconic arenas, stadiums, convention centers, music festivals, performing arts centers, and cultural institutions. Their comprehensive platform covers everything from venue development to venue management, hospitality, and sponsorship sales, offering an all-encompassing experience in the live entertainment industry. The company's commitment to excellence and innovation has firmly positioned it at the forefront of the sector, setting the standard for premium experiences at live events.

The Donald L. Tucker Civic Center, located in Tallahassee, Florida, is one of these prestigious venues managed by Oak View Group. The venue boasts a 12,500-seat arena, 34 luxury suites, 476 club seats, and over 54,000 square feet of versatile meeting and exhibition space. In addition, it features an arena-view restaurant called the Spotlight Grille, enhancing the overall guest experience. The arena is widely recognized as the home for Florida State Men's and Women's basketball teams, known for its electric atmosphere and the passionate home court advantage it offers. Beyond sports, the venue is versatile, hosting music events, trade shows, large catered functions, receptions, religious services, and classes, ensuring it serves a diverse community and wide range of events.

As a Premium Seating Concierge at the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center, you will play a critical role in shaping the guests' experiences, creating memorable moments in a lively and upscale environment. This part-time position offers an hourly wage of $16.00 and includes benefits such as a 401(k) savings plan with matching contributions. The role mainly involves serving as a frontline representative at the VIP entrance, preparing spaces, welcoming patrons, scanning tickets, providing directions, and maintaining safety and comfort standards. Your presence will ensure a seamless, professional, and inviting check-in experience for guests accessing premium seating areas such as luxury suites and club seats.

Your key responsibilities will include preparing the VIP lobby, greeting guests enthusiastically as they arrive, verifying ticket authenticity and validity, assisting patrons in locating their suites or clubs, and ensuring compliance with venue policies. Maintaining alertness to potential hazards and maintaining open communication with supervisors is crucial to fostering a safe environment. Handling guest concerns promptly and professionally, and accommodating ADA-related needs are also essential parts of the job. Managing foot traffic flow within the lobby and possessing knowledge of emergency evacuation procedures for guest safety rounds out your responsibilities.

This role requires a strong customer service mindset, enthusiasm for working with people, and the ability to maintain a positive disposition, even when handling challenging situations. Flexibility to work most home basketball games and availability on weekends is necessary, given the event schedule. Experience in hospitality or entertainment settings is preferred but not mandatory. The employer values diversity, inclusivity, and equitable employment opportunities and emphasizes creating an environment that embraces and celebrates all backgrounds. This commitment ensures a vibrant workplace culture where every team member can thrive and contribute meaningfully to the live entertainment experience.
