Job Description

Oak View Group (OVG) is a global leader in premium live entertainment infrastructure and services. Founded in 2015, the company has quickly established itself as a dominant force in venue development, management, hospitality, and sponsorship sales. OVG operates a collection of seven world-class owned venues and partners with some of the most iconic arenas, stadiums, convention centers, music festivals, performing arts centers, and cultural institutions across four continents. Their reach and expertise have made them a preferred name in the live entertainment industry, constantly innovating to offer top-tier experiences for guests and clients alike.

One of OVG's flagship venues is the Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts, located in downtown Greensboro, North Carolina. Since its grand opening in 2021, the Tanger Center has transformed the local entertainment landscape, hosting over 1.4 million guests to date. This modern, state-of-the-art facility presents a diverse array of events, including touring Broadway productions, concerts, performances by the Greensboro Symphony Orchestra, comedy shows, and family-oriented entertainment. The venue operates in partnership with Nederlander and Professional Facilities Management (PFM) to deliver premier events such as the First Bank Broadway Series, one of the top-selling one-week Broadway series in the nation.

The Premium Bartender role at the Steven Tanger Center is a key part-time position that plays a vital role in enhancing the guest experience by providing exceptional beverage service. The role entails serving both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages with professionalism, accuracy, and a keen attention to detail. The bartender must be personable and able to adapt quickly to a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. With an hourly wage between $15.00 and $17.00, plus eligibility for tips, this position offers competitive compensation for part-time work.

Bartenders at the venue are expected to maintain excellent attendance and flexibility, working events as scheduled to meet business needs. This role includes responsibilities such as adhering to state and federal alcohol distribution regulations, checking IDs to verify legal drinking age, and skillfully managing guest interactions, including de-escalation of intoxicated guests when necessary. Performance excellence is emphasized through collaboration with co-workers, strict adherence to uniform standards, and maintaining a clean, sanitary workspace.

In addition to beverage service, the Premium Bartender is responsible for managing the cash drawer, restocking supplies, and assisting with the overall organization of the bar area. Knowledge of various beer, wine, and spirit options is important, as bartenders are encouraged to upsell products through suggestive recommendations. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment within a prestigious venue that continuously hosts high-profile events and attracts large audiences.

Working with Oak View Group means contributing to a company that values diversity, innovation, and inclusivity. OVG commits to creating an environment that reflects and celebrates the diverse communities it serves. They prioritize equal employment opportunities and prohibit discrimination on any legally recognized basis. For anyone passionate about live entertainment and hospitality, the Premium Bartender role presents a chance to be part of an industry-leading organization that is united to make a positive difference.
