Job Description
Oak View Group (OVG) is a prominent leader in premium live entertainment infrastructure and services, founded in 2015 with a mission to revolutionize the way people experience live events. The company operates a diverse platform that spans venue development, venue management, hospitality, and sponsorship sales. OVG proudly manages seven world-class venues and collaborates with some of the most iconic arenas, stadiums, convention centers, music festivals, performing arts centers, and cultural institutions across four continents. This global footprint highlights OVG's dedication to elevating live entertainment by creating exceptional experiences for both guests and partners alike.
The Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts, located in downtown Greensboro, North Carolina, stands as a state-of-the-art facility that has revitalized the cultural landscape of the city since its opening in 2021. Home to touring Broadway productions, concerts, performances by the Greensboro Symphony Orchestra, comedy shows, and a host of family entertainment, the Tanger Center has welcomed over 1.4 million guests and continues to be a central hub for world-class entertainment in the region. Partnering with Nederlander and Professional Facilities Management (PFM), the Steven Tanger Center offers the First Bank Broadway Series, one of the nation's top-selling one-week Broadway series, underscoring its reputation for quality and excellence.
The Premium Bartender position at the Steven Tanger Center is a part-time role offering an hourly wage between $15.00 and $17.00, with tips eligible, making it a lucrative opportunity for individuals passionate about the hospitality and live entertainment industry. This role is designed for professionals who thrive in fast-paced, ever-changing environments and are committed to delivering exceptional guest service with a personable and professional demeanor. The Premium Bartender is entrusted with the service of all beverages — both alcoholic and non-alcoholic — while adhering strictly to all state and federal regulations concerning alcohol service.
Responsibilities include providing a superior guest experience by following the company standards for service, maintaining uniform professionalism, and managing bar inventory and financial transactions accurately. The Premium Bartender must possess knowledge of various types of beer, wine, and spirits, with the ability to suggestively upsell products to enhance guest satisfaction and sales. Ensuring responsible service, the bartender will verify guest identification, manage guest behavior related to alcohol consumption, and know when to involve management or security for conflict resolution. Maintaining cleanliness, organization, and sanitation of the work area is also crucial, as is supporting setup and breakdown tasks related to bar equipment and operations.
Working as part of the Oak View Group team ensures exposure to a dynamic and diverse working environment that celebrates inclusivity and embraces the uniqueness of its team members. The company believes in fostering innovation and excellence by promoting diversity across all levels of operation. Part-time employees have access to benefits such as a 401(k) savings plan and matching contributions, reflecting OVG's commitment to supporting the financial wellness of its workforce even in non-full-time roles.
This position calls for dependable individuals with six months or more bartending experience, excellent interpersonal skills, and the capability to prioritize tasks efficiently amid the hustle and bustle of live events. Bartending school attendance is preferred but not mandatory, and workers must be open to a flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends, and extended hours. The role promises an engaging work atmosphere within a premier live venue, offering valuable experience in hospitality and live entertainment sectors, backed by one of the industry’s most respected companies.
