Position Summary:

The Part-Time Premium Bar Back role at the Moody Center is crucial to delivering superior guest service during events. This position is responsible for stocking and maintaining all bar supplies and ensuring that all bar equipment is clean and functioning properly before events commence. Working as a bar back requires strong attention to detail, efficient restocking abilities, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and sanitation throughout the bar and surrounding areas. Additionally, the role involves supporting bartenders by running supplies like fruit, napkins, cups, utensils, and stirrers to them promptly and assisting with the handling of kegs.

This position is hourly-paid, with wages ranging from $12.00 to $17.00 per hour, and is tip-eligible, offering an opportunity to significantly enhance earnings. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment
  • Must possess or be willing to obtain valid food handling certificate and TABC certificate prior to employment
  • Ability to lift heavy items such as kegs
  • Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with co-workers, management and guests
  • Availability to work part-time hours including nights, weekends, and event days
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Strong attendance record

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment
  • Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, management staff and guests in a clear, business-like and respectful manner
  • Must possess or be willing to obtain valid food handling certificate and TABC certificate prior to working at Moody Center
  • Ability to calculate basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages) as they relate to product inventory
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high volume bar capacity is preferred

Job Duties

  • Stocking products for the bar including non-alcoholic beverages, alcoholic beverages, icing wells, sweeping and mopping the bar, moving kegs in and out of keg coolers and tapping kegs
  • Running supplies for bartenders including back up fruit, napkins, cups, utensils and stirrers
  • Assures that the location equipment is operable and clean prior to start of event
  • Maintain cleanliness of bar and surrounding areas utilizing sanitation procedures, including mopping floors, cleaning and stacking floor mats, emptying and relining trash cans and keeping closet areas clear of debris and clutter
  • Responsible for recognizing guests that are visibly intoxicated and taking action to make bartenders aware of such individuals
  • Maintains sanitation, health and safety standards in work areas
  • Show demonstrated ability to meet the company standard for excellent attendance
