The Premium Bar Back position at Moody Center is a part-time role offering an hourly wage between $12.00 and $17.00, with the added benefit of being eligible for tips. This role is vital in maintaining efficient bar operations during events and requires an individual to be fast-paced, team-oriented, and customer-focused. The position supports bartenders by stocking and replenishing bar supplies, ensuring cleanliness and operational readiness of bar equipment, and upholding health and safety standards throughout the venue.
The Premium Bar Back is responsible for handling non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverage stocks, managing ice wells, and performing floor maintenance duties such as sweeping and mopping. Additional duties involve moving and tapping kegs, restocking bartender supplies like fruit, napkins, cups, utensils, and stirrers, and maintaining overall cleanliness of the bar and adjacent areas. The employee is expected to recognize signs of intoxication among patrons and alert bartenders proactively, contributing to a safe and enjoyable environment for guests.

Job Requirements
- Must possess or be willing to obtain valid food handling certificate
- Must possess or be willing to obtain TABC certificate
- Ability to work in a fast-paced event environment
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to recognize intoxicated guests and take appropriate action
- Must maintain excellent attendance
- Basic math proficiency related to inventory management
Job Qualifications
- Ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment
- Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, management staff and guests in a clear, business-like and respectful manner that generates a positive, enthusiastic and cooperative work environment
- Must possess or be willing to obtain valid food handling certificate and TABC certificate prior to working at Moody Center
- Ability to calculate basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages as they relate to product inventory
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high volume bar capacity preferred
Job Duties
- Responsible for stocking products for the bar including non-alcoholic beverages, alcoholic beverages, icing wells, sweeping and moping the bar, moving kegs in and out of keg coolers and tapping kegs
- Running supplies for bartenders back up fruit, napkins, cups, utensils and stirrers
- Assures that the location equipment is operable and clean prior to start of event
- Maintain cleanliness of bar and surrounding areas utilizing sanitation procedures including mopping floors, cleaning and stacking floor mats, emptying and relining trash cans and keeping closet areas clear of debris and clutter
- Responsible for recognizing guests that are visibly intoxicated and taking action to make bartenders aware of such individuals
- Maintains sanitation, health and safety standards in work areas
- Show demonstrated ability to meet the company standard for excellent attendance
