The Parking Lot Attendant position at OVG Lexington is a part-time role based in Lexington, Kentucky, at 430 West Vine Street. This position plays a vital role in the safe, efficient, and professional management of parking operations at the Rupp Arena, Central Bank Center, and other associated venues. The attendant acts as a critical frontline representative of OVG Lexington, ensuring guests receive courteous assistance and clear direction for parking during events, daily functions, and special activities.

This role offers an hourly wage of $18.00 and includes part-time benefits such as enrollment in the 401(k) savings plan with matching contributions. The position reports to supervisors and collaborates closely with event staff, law enforcement, and security personnel to maintain smooth traffic flow and uphold safety standards throughout parking areas. Attendants are responsible for the operation and maintenance of traffic control equipment, monitoring compliance with parking policies, and ensuring accessible parking spaces remain available and safe for patrons with disabilities.

Parking Lot Attendants also respond promptly to incidents, accidents, and guest concerns by following established reporting and escalation procedures. This role requires excellent communication and customer service skills, the ability to work efficiently in high-pressure and fast-paced environments, and the physical stamina to work outdoors for extended periods in various weather conditions. Job Requirements

  • Previous experience in parking, traffic control, customer service, or related fields preferred
  • Ability to work outdoors for extended periods and in varying weather conditions
  • Physical capability to stand, walk, and lift equipment as required

Job Duties

  • Direct vehicles safely and efficiently in and around designated parking areas
  • Manage traffic flow during event ingress and egress to minimize congestion and ensure safety
  • Provide courteous, accurate information and assistance to guests, including directions, accessibility support, and general event parking inquiries
  • Operate and properly maintain assigned parking and traffic control equipment (e.g., traffic wands, cones, signage)
  • Maintain accountability for issued equipment and report any damage, loss, or malfunction promptly
  • Monitor parking areas for safety hazards, policy compliance, and proper use of designated spaces, including accessible parking
  • Assist with setup and breakdown of parking operations before and after events
  • Respond appropriately to incidents, accidents, or guest concerns and follow established reporting and escalation procedures
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and other event or security personnel
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor while representing each venue in a positive manner
