The Operations Manager role at Oak View Group's VyStar Pavilion in Port Wentworth, Georgia, is a crucial position responsible for overseeing all operational aspects of the facility. Job Requirements
- bachelor's or technical degree preferred
- minimum 3-5 years of arena or entertainment venue experience preferred
- at least 2 years of supervisory or training experience
- experience in public assembly industry supervisory or management roles
- ability to work flexible schedules including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended consecutive days
- proficiency with Windows and Microsoft Office software
- knowledge of operational procedures and facility capabilities
- knowledge of hockey facilities and operational rules preferred
- experience in production and equipment operation preferred
- self-motivated with excellent communication skills

Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's or technical degree from an accredited college, university, or school preferred
- minimum 3-5 years of arena or entertainment venue experience with facility and operations management preferred
- at least 2 years of experience supervising and training personnel
- related experience or training in the public assembly industry in supervisory or management roles
- ability to work flexible schedules including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended consecutive days
- proficient knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office software and standard office equipment
- understanding of operational procedures, facility capabilities, industry terminology, event-related services, and technical requirements for various event types
- knowledge of hockey facilities including ice installation, Zamboni, and ice edger preferred
- familiarity with NHL, AHL, ECHL rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
- understanding of event operational characteristics like crowd management, fire and public safety regulations, and food service practices
- knowledge of parking operations preferred
- production experience with concerts, basketball, hockey, and special events
- experience operating equipment such as Zambonis, golf carts, pallet jacks, forklifts, boom lifts, and scrubbing machines
- self-motivated with strong interpersonal and communication skills
- ability to make management decisions in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with attention to detail and organization

Job Duties
- Oversee day-to-day building operations, maintenance, and special projects
- plan and coordinate various facility set-ups including ice hockey matches, youth skates, college hockey, family shows, concerts, comedy shows, parking lot events, sports, and trade shows
- manage and develop parking procedures adhering to corporate standards
- oversee part-time operations, parking, and housekeeping staff for event setup, execution, and breakdown
- supervise facility maintenance programs and Computerized Maintenance Management System development
- oversee procurement of safety, housekeeping, parking, and operational supplies from third-party vendors
- assist in operations department reviews during weekly staff meetings
- maintain working relationships with all departments
- ensure compliance with laws, codes, ordinances, policies, risk management, safety protocols, and emergency procedures
- manage departmental equipment and notify Ice Operations Manager of additional needs
- support ice event monitoring and staffing logistics
- assist event managers with setup specifications and ensure adherence
- analyze and resolve operational issues and complaints
- deliver timely and accurate operation and ice maintenance information
- troubleshoot equipment including Zambonis, golf carts, forklifts, floor scrubbers, carpet cleaners, and lawn equipment
- perform preventative maintenance on Zambonis and blade changes
- oversee maintenance and repair of production equipment
- ensure preventative maintenance of all facility equipment
- manage event load-ins and load-outs typically occurring early mornings or late evenings
- coordinate with third-party vendors for upkeep of star dressing rooms, locker rooms, and facility interiors
- assist with ice installation, maintenance, operations, parking, and coordination as needed
