The Line Cook position at The Baylor Club is a part-time role dedicated to preparing high-quality food products for guests throughout the venue. This role requires the Line Cook to have direct interaction with guests, particularly when working in buffet lines or preparing made-to-order plates. The position calls for adherence to company standards in food preparation, safety, and sanitation. This role offers an hourly wage of $16.00 to $18.00 with benefits including a 401(k) savings plan and matching contributions available to part-time employees. The Line Cook must maintain excellent attendance and be flexible to work event schedules based on business needs. Key responsibilities include preparing hot and cold foods following precise recipes and portion guidelines while collaborating closely with culinary leadership such as the Executive Chef and Sous Chef to plan menu offerings and anticipate food consumption. This position is ideal for individuals with prior cooking or food preparation experience who thrive in energetic, team-oriented environments. A valid food handling certificate may be required, with preference given to candidates holding ServSafe certification. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience as cook or prep cook required
  • Ability to operate standard kitchen equipment
  • Excellent communication skills

  • Valid food handling certificate if required
  • Availability to work scheduled events
  • Commitment to excellent attendance

Job Qualifications

  • Previous cook or prep cook experience
  • Ability to operate standard kitchen equipment including broiler, steamer, convection oven, mixer, meat slicer and chef knife
  • Ability to communicate clearly, respectfully and professionally with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff and guests
  • Capability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment
  • Possession of valid food handling certificate if required by state and federal regulations
  • ServSafe certification preferred

Job Duties

  • Providing high quality fresh food products in a timely manner for guest delivery
  • Preparing hot and cold foods following company recipes and portioning requirements
  • Participating as a team player related to preparation, service, and product delivery
  • Reporting maintenance needs for kitchen equipment
  • Maintaining sanitation, health and safety standards in work areas
  • Observing and testing foods to ensure proper cooking
  • Portioning, arranging and garnishing food plates for guest delivery
  • Consulting with Executive Chef, Sous Chef or Kitchen Supervisor to plan menus and estimate food consumption
  • Demonstrating excellent attendance and availability for scheduled events
