Oak View Group manages an impressive portfolio comprising seven world-class owned venues and partners with some of the most iconic arenas, stadiums, convention centers, music festivals, performing arts centers, and cultural institutions across four continents. With a commitment to excellence and innovation, OVG delivers unforgettable live entertainment experiences to audiences worldwide.\n\nThe Stormont Vail Events Center, located in Topeka, Kansas, is a premier venue for entertainment, exhibitions, and conventions in Northeast Kansas. As a key hub for live music, sports, conventions, and community gatherings, the venue offers a dynamic and fast-paced environment.\n\nThe Line Cook role at Stormont Vail Events Center is a part-time, regularly scheduled position vital to food service operations during events. The position pays $12.00 to $14.00 per hour and includes tip eligibility. The Line Cook is responsible for preparing high-quality, fresh food that meets company standards and guest expectations. This involves preparing both hot and cold dishes, often directly engaging with guests while working buffet lines or preparing made-to-order items. You will collaborate closely with the Executive Chef, Sous Chef, and Kitchen Supervisor to plan menus and estimate food consumption, ensuring efficient service during a wide range of event types. Maintaining sanitation, health, and safety standards in the kitchen is paramount, as is operating kitchen equipment such as broilers, steamers, convection ovens, mixers, meat slicers, and chef knives safely and effectively.\n\nTeamwork is an essential aspect of this role, as the Line Cook works alongside other culinary and service staff to ensure timely and accurate delivery of food products. The right candidate will demonstrate reliability with excellent attendance and a positive attitude suited to a fast-paced, event-driven work atmosphere. Previous culinary experience is highly preferred, particularly in cook or prep cook roles, and possessing a valid food handling certificate and ServSafe certification is advantageous. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about food service, eager to contribute in a vibrant environment, and ready to support memorable event experiences at one of the leading venues in Northeast Kansas. Part-time employees benefit from participation in the 401(k) savings plan and employer matching contributions, supporting long-term financial wellness. This position is open until October 16, 2026, inviting applicants who are excited about joining a diverse and innovative team dedicated to high standards and exceptional entertainment experiences.
