Established in 2015, OVG has quickly become an industry pioneer, managing a diverse portfolio that includes venue development, venue management, hospitality, and sponsorship sales. With operations spanning four continents, OVG oversees a collection of seven world-class owned venues and supports a wide array of clients that includes iconic arenas, stadiums, convention centers, music festivals, performing arts centers, and cultural institutions. The company's commitment to excellence and innovation in live entertainment services is unmatched, making it an exciting and dynamic place to work.\n\nOne of OVG's premier venues is the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center located in Tallahassee, Florida. This venue boasts a 12,500-seat arena, 34 luxury suites, 476 club seats, and over 54,000 square feet of meeting and exhibition space. It also houses the Spotlight Grille, an arena-view restaurant known for exceptional dining experiences. The arena serves as home to the Florida State University (FSU) Men’s and Women’s basketball teams and is renowned for its electric atmosphere and passionate home court advantage. Aside from hosting thrilling sports events and concerts, the venue regularly accommodates trade shows, large catered functions, receptions, religious services, and classes, making it a versatile hub of activity and culture in Tallahassee.\n\nThe Line Cook position at the Donald L. This part-time role is perfect for those looking to build serious cooking skills under the guidance of seasoned chefs. The Line Cook is responsible for preparing high-quality, fresh foods to be served to guests throughout the venue. This includes working in buffet lines, station serving, and catering to high-profile groups such as the FSU men's and women’s basketball teams and VIP guests in luxury suites during concerts and events.\n\nThe role demands a strong work ethic, excellent attendance, and the flexibility to work scheduled events as needed. Compensation for this position is competitive, with an hourly wage ranging from $16.00 to $18.00, making it an attractive option for part-time employment. Additionally, part-time employees at OVG are eligible for benefits including a 401(k) savings plan along with company matching contributions, which is relatively rare in part-time roles within the hospitality industry.\n\nWorking as a Line Cook at OVG’s Donald L. Tucker Civic Center means becoming part of a larger team dedicated to delivering memorable experiences to a wide audience. The kitchen environment is fast-paced and event-driven, requiring team players who can maintain high standards of food safety, sanitation, and quality. Line Cooks are also expected to operate various kitchen equipment such as broilers, steamers, convection ovens, mixers, meat slicers, and chef knives safely and efficiently. Communication skills are essential since the position involves coordination with the executive kitchen staff, co-workers, management, volunteers, and the guests themselves.\n\nFor individuals who are eager to grow professionally in the culinary field and thrive in an energetic setting, this role offers the chance to develop specialized skills, gain valuable experience, and contribute to a venue that plays a significant role in the community and collegiate sports. OVG is committed to creating an inclusive workplace that celebrates diversity, fosters innovation, and promotes excellence in all areas of service.
