The Line Cook is responsible for food preparation in accordance with company recipes and portioning standards, maintaining cleanliness and safety standards, and ensuring timely delivery of food during events. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous cooking or food preparation experience preferred
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
  • Must have basic knowledge of kitchen equipment operation
  • Valid food handling certificate if required by state and federal laws
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Job Qualifications

  • Previous cook or prep cook experience highly preferred
  • Able to operate standard kitchen equipment such as broiler, steamer, convection oven, mixer, meat slicer, and chef knife
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management, and guests in a clear, respectful, and business-like manner
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment
  • Possess a valid food handling certificate if required by state and federal regulations
  • ServSafe certification preferred

Job Duties

  • Providing high-quality fresh food products in a timely manner for delivery to guests
  • Prepares hot and cold foods following company recipes and portioning requirements
  • Participates as a team player in preparation, service, and delivery of food products
  • Reports maintenance needs for kitchen equipment
  • Maintains sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas
  • Observes and tests foods to ensure proper cooking
  • Portions, arranges, and garnishes food plates for guest delivery
  • Consults with Executive Chef, Sous Chef, or Kitchen Supervisor to plan menus and estimate food consumption
  • Demonstrates excellent attendance and punctuality
