Oak View Group (OVG) is a global leader in premium live entertainment infrastructure and services, renowned for its comprehensive platform that encompasses venue development, venue management, hospitality, and sponsorship sales. Established in 2015, OVG has rapidly become a pioneering force in the live entertainment sector. The company manages a diverse portfolio comprising seven world-class venues and serves an extensive client roster that includes some of the most iconic arenas, stadiums, convention centers, music festivals, performing arts centers, and cultural institutions across four continents. This global footprint solidifies Oak View Group's reputation for delivering exceptional experiences in entertainment and hospitality worldwide.
One of the prominent venues managed by Oak View Group is the PPL Center, a state-of-the-art multipurpose arena located in downtown Allentown, Pennsylvania. The PPL Center stands as the region's largest event venue, boasting a seating capacity of over 10,000 for concerts and more than 8,500 for professional hockey games. It is home to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, the American Hockey League affiliate of the NHL's Philadelphia Flyers. This arena hosts over 150 events annually, ranging from live concerts and family shows to trade exhibitions, youth sports competitions, high school and collegiate events, conferences, and graduations. The venue's multifaceted nature establishes it as a vibrant hub for entertainment and community engagement in the region.
Within the PPL Center, Chickie’s & Pete’s operates as a full-service bar and restaurant, serving lunch from Tuesday through Friday and extending service during event days. Known for its vibrant atmosphere and quality food offerings, Chickie’s & Pete’s is a popular destination for guests attending events at the arena as well as for local patrons seeking a distinctive dining experience.
The Food Runner role at Chickie’s & Pete’s within PPL Center is a part-time position dedicated to supporting servers and ensuring a seamless dining experience for guests. This position is pivotal in maintaining efficient communication between the kitchen, servers, and guests by delivering food promptly while ensuring the correct temperature and presentation standards are met. The hourly wage ranges from $9.00 to $12.00, providing an opportunity for individuals interested in part-time work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
As a Food Runner, you will be responsible for the timely and sanitary delivery of both hot and cold food items from the kitchen to servers or directly to guests. A key part of the job involves assisting with food preparation and garnish to meet the menu standards set forth by Chickie’s & Pete’s. You will also play an integral role in upholding the restaurant's service standards, working with the expeditor, and assisting with bussing and cleaning duties to maintain cleanliness and organization within the dining and kitchen areas.
This role demands a proactive, friendly individual who thrives in a team-oriented atmosphere and can adapt to a flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends, some holidays, and potentially long hours. The ability to maintain a positive attitude, prioritize tasks under pressure, and engage professionally with guests and staff is essential. Physical stamina is equally important, as the role requires standing for extended periods and performing various physical activities such as lifting, walking, and balancing in a busy service environment.
Oak View Group values diversity and inclusivity, recognizing that a broad range of perspectives drives innovation and excellence. The company is committed to equal employment opportunities and fosters a culture that celebrates diverse backgrounds, ensuring all employees and applicants are treated fairly without regard to protected characteristics. The Food Runner position at Chickie’s & Pete’s is an excellent entry point into the hospitality industry for those passionate about live entertainment and guest service, offering the chance to be part of an exciting venue and a leading global entertainment group.
