The Food Runner role at the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art is a part-time, regular position designed for individuals passionate about providing exceptional guest service within a vibrant and dynamic environment. This position plays a crucial role in the dining experience by ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of food from the kitchen to guests. The Food Runner acts as a vital link between the kitchen staff and the front-of-house team, including servers and bussers, to guarantee that all meals are presented correctly, delivered promptly, and uphold the museum's standards for quality and presentation.

This position offers an hourly wage of $18.90 and is tip eligible, providing additional earning potential for those who excel in service. The role also includes part-time benefits such as a 401(k) Savings Plan with matching contributions, which is a valuable offering not always available for part-time employees.

Key responsibilities of the Food Runner include verifying food orders for accuracy, presentation, and completeness before delivery, maintaining communication about special requests, allergies, or modifications, and assisting with overall table maintenance. The Food Runner supports servers by refilling water, delivering condiments, and promptly responding to guest needs. Additionally, the role involves maintaining cleanliness and organization of service stations and the dining area, stocking supplies during shifts, and adhering to all food safety and sanitation regulations.

The ideal candidate for this position is someone with strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Experience in the restaurant or hospitality industry is preferred but not mandatory, as the museum is willing to train motivated individuals who demonstrate a positive attitude and teamwork. Physical stamina is important, as the position requires standing and walking for extended periods and frequently lifting and carrying trays, dishes, and other supplies.
