The company owns and operates world-class venues and manages iconic arenas, stadiums, convention centers, music festivals, performing arts centers, and cultural institutions across four continents. OVG's dedication to excellence, innovation, and diversity has made it a respected name in the live events industry, attracting top talent and leading partnerships worldwide.
The Rio Rancho Events Center, managed by OVG, is an 8,000-seat multi-purpose venue located in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. Opened in 2006, it serves as a hub for diverse events ranging from professional sports like hockey and indoor soccer to concerts, rodeos, trade shows, and family entertainment. The arena hosts the New Mexico Goatheads (ECHL) and New Mexico Runners (Major Arena Soccer League) and is situated conveniently close to Albuquerque and Santa Fe, making it a central location for regional events.
The Event Manager role at the Rio Rancho Events Center is a vital position responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and success of events held at the venue. This full-time role offers an annual salary between $50,000 and $60,000, accompanied by comprehensive benefits including health, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with matching contributions, and paid time off consisting of vacation days, sick days, and holidays.
As an Event Manager, the individual will lead all aspects of event management from initial planning through post-event evaluation. This includes hiring, training, scheduling, and supervising all event staff and security personnel to ensure seamless event operations and a positive customer experience. The manager coordinates with building security, local public safety officials, and various stakeholders to maintain safety and satisfaction for clients, patrons, and lessees.
Key responsibilities include detailed advance planning, direct supervision of staff, building security oversight, liaising with municipal departments, handling customer inquiries and complaints professionally, and ensuring all events are supported by appropriate resources and staffing levels. The role demands excellent leadership, communication skills, and the ability to solve problems under pressure while maintaining a friendly, customer-oriented approach.
This position also involves financial aspects such as assisting in the preparation of event budgets, managing payroll for event staff, and completing pre-show estimates and post-show settlements. The Event Manager must be proficient in Microsoft Office, knowledgeable about public assembly facilities' operational and safety standards, and flexible in work hours to accommodate the nature of live events, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
OVG is committed to diversity and inclusion, fostering an environment where diverse perspectives are valued and innovation thrives. The company maintains an equal employment opportunity policy, ensuring fair treatment for all employees and applicants regardless of veteran status, race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or any other protected status. Interested candidates are encouraged to apply and become part of a team dedicated to shaping the future of live entertainment.
