Job Description

Oak View Group (OVG) is a global leader in premium live entertainment infrastructure and services. Established in 2015, the company has grown to become a powerhouse in the venue development and management industry, handling everything from stadiums and arenas to convention centers, music festivals, performing arts centers, and cultural institutions worldwide. Serving a portfolio that spans four continents, Oak View Group combines expertise in venue management, hospitality, and sponsorship sales to provide end-to-end solutions for some of the most iconic live entertainment venues across the globe.

The Rio Rancho Events Center, managed by Oak View Group, is a versatile 8,000-seat multi-purpose venue located in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. Opened in October 2006, the center serves as home to professional sports teams including the New Mexico Goatheads (ECHL) and New Mexico Runners (Major Arena Soccer League). It is strategically situated less than an hour from Albuquerque and Santa Fe, making it an accessible hub for various forms of entertainment and events such as concerts, hockey games, basketball, indoor football, rodeos, family shows, and trade shows. This arena is owned by the City of Rio Rancho and managed under the expert guidance of Oak View Group, ensuring top-notch facility operations, security, and customer experience.

The Event Manager role at the Rio Rancho Events Center is a full-time position paying an annual salary between $50,000 and $60,000. This position offers robust benefits including health, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with matching, paid time off covering vacation days, sick days, and eleven holidays annually. As an Event Manager, the incumbent will be at the helm of all facets of event execution, from meticulous advance planning and coordination to on-the-ground supervision during the event and efficient wrap-up post event completion.

Responsibilities include hiring, training, scheduling, and supervising all event and security staff, overseeing building security, and working closely with local public safety officials to ensure that each event runs effortlessly and safely. The Event Manager coordinates communication between event staff and security personnel and acts as a liaison between clients, lessees, and facility staff. A significant part of the role involves ensuring customer satisfaction and an unmatched experience for both clients and patrons.

The role demands strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a diverse team efficiently, as well as exceptional organizational and communication abilities. The Event Manager provides critical support during event load-in and load-out, handles financial aspects such as pre-show estimates and post-show settlements, and regularly interacts with municipal authorities to guarantee adherence to safety regulations. The position also involves maintaining and managing event and security equipment, making hospitality arrangements, preparing payroll for event staff, and serving as the Manager on Duty as scheduled.

This role is ideal for individuals with 3 to 5 years of progressive experience in event management within stadiums, arenas, convention centers, or similar public assembly settings. Candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree with relevant coursework in facility management, hospitality management, business, or related fields. Familiarity with operational characteristics of events, crowd control, public safety regulations, and facility management tools including Microsoft Office and possibly AutoCAD is essential. The position requires flexibility in working hours, including nights, weekends, early mornings, and holidays to meet the needs of live events. Oak View Group values diversity, inclusivity, and equal opportunity in the workplace and encourages candidates from all backgrounds to apply, reflecting their commitment to an innovative and respectful professional environment.
