This expansive network positions Oak View Group at the forefront of the sports and live entertainment industry, supporting an unparalleled lineup of events that captivate diverse audiences worldwide.
Among the crown jewels of OVG’s venue collection is the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Known as the regional epicenter for athletic events, concerts, and family shows, this arena is the proud home of the NHL’s Pittsburgh Penguins. As a premier arena, PPG Paints Arena combines state-of-the-art facilities with a vibrant event calendar that attracts thousands of visitors, making it a focal point for entertainment and community gatherings in Western Pennsylvania.
The role of Event Manager at PPG Paints Arena is a full-time position designed for an experienced professional to lead and coordinate event operations across a wide variety of occasions including sporting events, family shows, concerts, concert VIPs, and private events. This position offers an annual salary range of $45,000 to $50,000 and is eligible for bonuses, which incentivizes performance and commitment. Full-time employees enjoy comprehensive benefits including health, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with matching contributions, and paid time off that covers vacation days, sick leave, and eleven holidays.
As an Event Manager, you will serve as a vital liaison between the building management, event promoters, and team representatives to ensure the flawless execution of events. You will coordinate all aspects of event requirements, develop concepts and policies for private events while managing budgeting and cost tracking, and support arena operations through active participation in planning and organizational meetings.
The position demands exceptional organizational, planning, and interpersonal skills, along with strong problem-solving abilities and excellent oral and written communication skills. Proficiency with various technologies such as CAD for event layout planning, AV equipment, and scheduling software is also important. Flexibility is key as the job requires working varied hours including office hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays, along with the physical ability to maneuver throughout the facility and assist with moving equipment and supplies.
