Job Description
Oak View Group (OVG) is a global leader in premium live entertainment infrastructure and services, established in 2015. The company operates a diverse platform that includes venue development and comprehensive management services covering hospitality and sponsorship sales. With a robust portfolio that spans seven world-class venues and extends over four continents, Oak View Group partners with iconic arenas, stadiums, convention centers, music festivals, performing arts centers, and cultural institutions. Headquartered in Austin, Texas, the Moody Center is one of its flagship venues, exemplifying OVG's commitment to offering first-class customer experiences and innovative event productions.
The Event Manager role at the Moody Center is a critical, full-time position responsible for overseeing all aspects of event production and facility liaison activities. Reporting directly to the Senior Event Manager, the person in this role will be central to the flawless execution of diverse events ranging from basketball games and concerts to family shows. The Event Manager coordinates front and back-of-house operations including staffing, safety, technical setups, and tear-down processes to ensure each event runs seamlessly. This role demands a highly flexible schedule, requiring availability during irregular hours, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays, aligned with specific event agendas. The position offers an annual salary ranging from $60,000 to $68,000 and includes benefits such as health, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with matching contributions, and paid time off encompassing vacation, sick days, and eleven holidays.
In this capacity, the Event Manager is expected to demonstrate thorough knowledge of operational procedures, facility capabilities, industry terminology, and technical requirements relevant to the events hosted at Moody Center. Managing large-scale events like concerts and sports games, they will coordinate stagehands, medical teams, security, audio-visual equipment, and emergency services. Responsibilities include event planning, budgeting, and continuous communication with clients, facility departments, and vendors to ensure adequate staffing and smooth operations. The role also entails creating and submitting AutoCAD drawings and adhering to all safety regulations and fire codes.
Candidates must exhibit strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced, event-driven environment. They will act as the principal liaison between clients and the facility, guiding clients through event preparation and contractual requirements. The role demands problem-solving skills to quickly identify and resolve issues, along with excellent verbal and written communication abilities. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, payroll systems, Photoshop, and AutoCAD software is required. Certification in First Aid, CPR, AED, and training in emergency preparedness (active shooter, bomb threats, severe weather) are essential. The ability to manage physical demands such as climbing, lifting, and working amidst moderate to loud noise levels is also necessary.
Oak View Group fosters an inclusive workplace that values diversity and aims to reflect the communities it serves. The company is committed to equal employment opportunity and encourages applicants from various backgrounds to join their team. This role remains open until July 24, 2026, inviting qualified candidates who are enthusiastic about live event management to apply and contribute to a pioneering entertainment operation at the Moody Center.
